While this is an older hotel, (paint on paint) we found the location was great, on the water walk, great pool and hot tube. Staff could not be any more pleasant and accommodating. We used the suite with two adults and 3 children. Sofa bed not bad (its a sofa bed). two queen were comfortable. We loved it.

This Hampton Inn has excellent walkable access to the downtown Bradenton area including the restaurants and bars. The Riverwalk is just 2 blocks away. It is a very unique property holding onto vestiges of a 1920's hotel, yet holding all modern conveniences with elevators, the bathrooms etc. The parking lot is on the backside of the hotel. There are a few parking spots by the front door, but your vehicle will be alongside the road for the night if you leave it there. Breakfast is typical Hampton Inn. Nicely done and solid. Staff are friendly and respectful. The only area that is a bit hurting is staffing of the front desk. I came in on a Sunday evening. There were 3 people waiting in line, the phone was ringing constantly and only one person working the desk. The management needs to be in place in situations like this and assisting the front desk staff. Morning check out was much smoother.

Exceeded expectations 👍🏻 Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the inn’s owner. I was very happy when I entered the room to find the floors weren’t carpeted, the room was clean, I was able to get restful sleep in a very comfortable bed. Thank you, Matt Erickson, for your kind attention to my reservation and requests during my stay. In addition to Matt and the owner’s excellence, I want to give kudos to the housekeeping staff. My stay was an excellent experience and a great value. Thank you! Peggy Akrigg

The staff is great. Jasa and Chris were so helpful. When I checked in, the toilet wouldn't flush. Jasa offered me an opportunity to switch rooms. She also had maintenance come straight up to fix the toilet in my original room - so I stayed there. The rooms are ok, from a design/decor point of view. Air conditioning works well. Shower has good pressure. Parking is easy and convenient. The carpet, though, is, quite honestly, filthy, and not just in the guest rooms. I wear white socks. Walking across the carpet in the room left them really, really dirty. I dampened a washcloth and rubbed it over a very small section of the rug, just to test, and it was alarming. Management should, at the very least, have the carpets throughout the hotel cleaned. I know that this has been an ongoing problem, based on other online reviews. I can't recommend people stay there until that gets resolved. Also, the red chair in the room I stayed in was very dirty. I wouldn't sit in it. Once these issues are resolved, I would change my rating to 4 stars.

Booked this hotel for a quick overnight stay. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels in close proximity. We normally stay at a bit nicer hotel but took a chance on this one based on the many great reviews. Pros Extremely nice check in staff Convenient to airport and highway Nice heated pool Cute tiki bar area Room was clean and newly painted spacious Bathroom was clean although tub was old Bed comfort was ok Couch in room Small kitchenette for longer stays Elevator available Free parking Cons Room has old carpet smells musty Tub is old and worn Furniture is worn and tired Noisy street and planes Humidifier in room was full and noisy The musty smell would prohibit me from staying here again. They started updates they may want to consider removing the carpet next. Otherwise it wasn’t bad for a quick stay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in mid December and loved it. However, we recently stayed again and had some comments, issues regarding the app. After trying to call the hotel for one entire day and no one answering, I called again another day. The hotel answered this day and I asked to speak with the manager. After a considerate amount of time, the manager did answer. I told her about our issues and she was very defensive and rude. She even told me that we had booked two reservations and they did us a favor by canceling one. She also told me to take the phone with the app away from my husband! I mentioned our preferences on our profile and she said the profile had no preferences and that is why we weren’t accommodated. The manager then said she would give us points on our IHG account (which I did not ask for) and said we could use the points toward our next stay. The manager’s rudeness has made us decide we will not stay at this hotel again and maybe not any IHG property.

Kathleen was very nice, attentive and very helpful. I looked forward to seeing her every morning at breakfast. She wasn't afraid to talk to people and help people at breakfast. Everyone just stood around, didn't help or even talk to you. You could tell that Kathleen loved her job and what she does. The front desk staff was amazing (Maria). Thank you to all the staff who made our 7 day vacation amazing!! My husband and I will definitely return. I forgot to mention the availability to ride the bikes was a pleasant experience and all the shops, mall and stores was in walking distance.

GGuest UserThis was our second visit to this area to visit family and this hotel has a lot going for it -- central location near restaurants, the interstate, shops, friendly staff and atmosphere, exceptionally clean and modern guest rooms and public areas. Once again, we felt welcomed by the reception desk and rest of the staff each day as we had during our first visit last year. However, some suggested areas of improvement: 1. If snacks are from 5 - 7 p.m., have them out on time. Only happened once in a week. 2. Remind us at check-in we could have received more bottled water as Hilton Honors members, and 3.Last, but not least! Eliminate the little slips of paper that were strewn all over the hallway each day (a week for us) from the new General Manager. We felt they were a waste. If they are left on doors, they don't stay there and litter the hallway. (What if you are handicapped and cannot bend to pick it up?) Not a good image/perception, at least for us. This did not happen last time we stayed and we felt just as welcome without the litter in the hallway when you opened your door each morning. Only good as scrap paper since pens and notepads are no longer provided in rooms (perhaps because of the pandemic?). Consider alternatives, e.g., a Welcome placard/tent card on the desk in each room with the same message from the GM with her contact info should suffice, and/or have a board (electronic or otherwise) by the elevators or by the breakfast room where you can post the daily forecast and who is serving breakfast, and a daily message from the GM. We've seen this done at other hotels, conference centers, and cruise ships. You are modern in every way ... come into the 21st Century with that gesture too.

GGuest UserAs Ambassador Elite, we have had the opportunity to stay at many Marriott properties. This was our first stay here and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is located right on a large marina with beautiful views. The suite was spacious, very clean, and bright. There is a restaurant on-site, Oak & Barrel, which has a great Reuben. There is a rooftop pool (small, but large enough to do laps). There is also a very busy roof top bar and restaurant - part of the Oak & Barrel. The fitness center has sufficient equipment, but could use a stationary bike. Parking is free at an indoor garage, very close to the hotel. Of great importance to us is the very professional and welcoming associates/staff. We experienced outstanding service at every level, with special thanks to Nikki, as well as to Kira and Armando. We are looking forward to our return visit in 2023 !!!!

Staff was very friendly. Some of the housekeeping staff didn't speak any English, but I was still able to get what I needed from them. I wish I got her name. She was so nice. Ddhklein1This horrific experience occurred this past weekend, January 26-28. We were advised prior to our arrival at the Hilton Garden Inn by family who had checked in earlier that the hotel had NO hot water. On arrival late Friday afternoon, we asked about problem and was told that heater had been fixed and that water was being warmed and would be hot later that day. This turned out to be a complete lie! When we called the front desk the next morning at 730 am after finding only a cold shower, we were told that the heater had not been fixed but that plumbers had been called. We checked back to the front desk mid-morning and were told the plumbers were still coming but hadn't yet arrived. We checked back again early afternoon and was told the heater would not be fixed until two days later. Apparently parts weren't available until then! I asked for our rooms to be comp'd but was only offered a free buffet breakfast and a $50 one night discount. I told the front desk manager Rick Ring that was not adequate given that I was told on check in that the problem had been fixed and that front desk staff lied to me. Ring responded that $50 was the maximum discount he was authorized to provide. I asked Ring to speak with the general manager Catlin Naser who was off site but access was denied stating he wasn’t available. Hard to believe that the general manager couldn’t be contacted if there was a fire or worse! I asked without hot water how did they clean dishes, etc. used for breakfast which was to me a sort of a disgusting, unhealthy thought. I mentioned that I led a group of ten families who had stayed at the hotel before and would now would not return but that didn't matter. I am a frequent traveler. What I have encountered problems like this in the past, my rooms are always fully comp'd and alternate hotel, which is also covered by the hotel without the hot water, is offered for the stay. Feels like the owners of this Hilton Garden Inn are dishonest or have gone cheap and don't understand importance of good customer service. Or if they do value good customer service than there is a failure in the management and training of their employees. In any event, we with our ten rooms will not stay there again. We will seek reversal of charges through our credit card company. I will report the food health and safety question to Florida Health next week, when their call center will be available. With this review, we hope all will beware of this Inn until their management changes. Bad place and bad people. PS After posting this review, we witnessed another irate guest who “wanted his money back” which was refused by the front desk. He apparently had not been told at check that was no hot water. The shouting match went on for about fifteen minutes ending with the front desk threatening to call the Sarasota Police. With choices, why spend your money here? Honesty and integrity matter.

GGuest UserWe came from Montana for my Granddaughters Graduation our stay of 5 days was great. The rooms are a little dated but very clean we were on the bottom floor across from the pool. The room was very quiet no noise from surrounding rooms. Ample parking, close to restaurants, gas station, Hwy 301 with easy access to shopping. The rate was great it made our trip super affordable. We enjoyed our view of lake Lovelee, the hotel offered coupons for the nearby restaurants which were very welcome. The manager was a little short with my daughter and i heard that she or someone close might have been feeding the alligator that lived at the lake. I know they were short staffed, and it might have been a bit to being overworked. Not sure about the alligator but i did get a nice video when it saw me it swam right for me. There is a fence that separates from the lake so i felt pretty safe. Don't feed the alligators and i think this would be a great place to stay.

MMichael A PhillipsSuper 8 was clean and comfortable but on entering the room it was set up to kill my girl. We came in late and there was no light available when turning on the door switch next to the door. My angel stepped into the room hands full and due to the lack of light immediately fell over a badly placed coffee table where she proceeded to fall with hands full over the table badly bruising her chin not once or twice but three times and was in extreme pain. Nice room but please consider the customers and their safety next time you place a coffee table inside a door and in the immediate walk way.

GGuest UserEverything was ok for the price. It was clean but very run down. There was a homeless guy screaming in the parking lot one morning at 8 am and what seemed to be gangs of young men hanging out in the parking lot. Lots of college kids on spring break so a bit noisy at night. Also, we didn't dare venture to the pool, especially in the evening. It just didn't feel safe. Large dumpster in the parking lot in full view loaded with all kinds of garbage. But it was good for what we wanted and we didn't spend much time there besides to sleep at night. Maid service was consistently good.

CchelseaSweetieMy boyfriend and I decided to try the Sunrise inn when we visit this area (quite often) and we were not disappointed by the daily rates or the generous sized rooms. These rooms are about 3x's the size of any of the rooms in the near by hotels. If we ever need anything the staff is quick to react. The manager is the best! Our favorite parts are the cleanliness, nearby shopping & eating options and the privacy the hotel offers. We will continue to book here during all of our future stays. :-)
