Marari Beach Resort Alleppey- a CGH Earth Experience

Amazing Stay at this hotel. Awesome staff great installations and rooms. The food is great. 100% recomendable for some peaceful days.

Quiet, peaceful and relaxing accommodation. Spacious grounds with lots of trees and greenery. Easy access to the beach. All staff are excellent and go out of their way to make sure that guests enjoy their stay. A range of optional activities are on offer throughout the day. Bicycles are available to use in the local area - we went out twice! We must mention Shibu, the resident naturalist, who has such amazing knowledge. We joined his daily walk around the grounds where he showed us owls, birds and insects. As we had enjoyed this so much, we did the external visit to his ‘garden’ and spent over an hour in close proximity to numerous varieties of birds. Thank you, Shibu, for sharing your knowledge with us! Our room, number 14, had a view to one of the ponds and was close to the swimming pool. Angel kept our room immaculately clean and left us creative ‘displays’ on the bed. Staying here was the perfect way to end our tour of India. Thank you to all of the staff!

This was the final stop of our tour of India. So glad we saved the best for the last. The staff at reception were so welcoming and happy to show us around and point out the different facilities available which was most helpful as the area is vast. We were spending 4 days/3 nights here. Most of our time was spent at the beach swimming in the warm waters and lapping up our last bit of Indian sunshine. Glorious. Other than that, our free time was out butterfly hunting with Vishnu who worked on site and he knew just about everything you needed to know about butterflies and also the local bug population. Vishnu was keen to help us find the owlets that lived in the area and I think we found just about every owl that was there. He very kindly brought ***** his extremely powerful monocular which allowed us to have pictures taken of the local wildlife. So helpful and friendly. For me, Vishnu made my stay at the Marari beach resort extra special and it’s a time I’ll never forget. The food was amazing but after a long trip, curry was not on the agenda for me but the kitchen staff provided a delicious puttanesca pasta dish and the kindness bestowed by all members of staff, even the lovely gardeners, is an experience that will stick with me forever. Well done guys!

Having spent two weeks exploring India and staying in various CGH properties it was disappointing to find that as a group they have extensive differences in what they offer their guests depending on he location. No room service at Marari Beach although Eighth Bastion, Coconut Grove and Wayanard were all happy to provide this service. Televisions provided in the room at Eighth Bastion but not at other locations. Toiletries in Marari Beach limited to small containers whereas at other locations pump dispensers were provided. Evening dinner service was a problem for us as restaurant opening hours for dinner began at 7.30pm. This for us was too late especially as there was no alternative dining experiences. Regrettably we would not return to Marari Beach as for us it did not provide that individual experience we look for on holiday. The Pool Villa was not value for money because apart from having the privacy of the plunge pool there was no added advantage. The staff were mostly helpful Lineesh in the main restaurant was exceptional in making sure he met our needs.
