A fantastic stay after finishing Cammino Materano, on the doorstep of the Sassi, quiet and peaceful

Piazza Mulino is well located close to the center of Matera within easy walking distance of the Sassi. It is a simple place, very clean, and comfortable. Great value for money.

Worst experience in staying in independent accommodation. Left in the rain for 1 hour. Tried 18 calls not answered A very unpleasant man turned up and yelled at us in Italian. We felt very intimidated. When we went out we believe someone entered the room and turned off all lights and heating. Nice room but it’s in an apartment not a hotel like pictures make you believe. Next morning 1/2 hour before check out we returned back and the angry man was waiting for us. Yelling about lights left on. This was a small bathroom light we’d missed when we went for a walk. He virtually threw us out of the hotel. Standing in front of the bedroom window making us very uncomfortable. Very very unpleasant stay.

In conclusion, I was unable to stay. No one came to check in, and my phone was out of service, both on my cell phone and at the office. An old man nearby tried to help, but I couldn't get in touch with him, and he didn't reply to my message from Google. I waited for two hours, but I couldn't get in touch with him, so I canceled the reservation and arranged for another accommodation to be available on the spot. When I canceled the reservation through the app, I was contacted again, asking why I had canceled. I guess they wouldn't accept my cancellation, and I didn't get a refund. Please be careful.

Piazza Mulino 26 is in a very good location especially when you just have a few days in Matera. It is close by most the essentials: the Sassi is just some meters away, good restaurants, and cafes. it is also not far from the train or bus terminals. We chose Piazza Mulino 26 mainly because of the accessibility they offer for someone who is in wheelchair. It is one of the few places where you can stay is you need accessibility. The host is also pretty responsive. It was a great stay overall.

Lo único bueno es la ubicación. No podemos decir nada de la recepción porque no estuvo en ningún momento. La limpieza deja mucho que desear (la nevera sucia olía mal), el colchón viejo y en la ducha casi no salía agua y la que salía se filtraba fuera por lo cual todo el baño mojado.

Camera con bagno molto carina, davvero a 2 passi dal corso principale. Parcheggi a pagamento ma adiacenti alla porta d'ingresso. Superprofessionale e davvero disponibile Piercamillo. Grazie e arrivederci.
