As the price of Awanoyu Ryokan continues to rise, I visited Marunaga Ryokan, which uses the same hot spring. The mascot dog is quiet and good for dog lovers. The staff are average. The lounge has a stove, but it was cold. The hallways are also warm where there are fan heaters, but cold where there are no. Maybe because we had a family, we could only book the new wing. It was relatively new and was quite good, but there was some dust. The TV was cable and no satellite. The door was cheap and there was no safe, so I was a little worried about security. Well, this is a typical Japanese inn, so I guess I should consider it charming. There is wifi and a refrigerator, so it's not inconvenient for staying there. There are not many rooms, so the dressing room is small. There are no lockers. There are three washing areas, and they are a little close to the bathtub. Maybe because of that, the shower pressure is weak. The indoor bath is stress-free and acceptable for two people, and the open-air bath is about six people. It's not about being careful about the open-air bath, but you should be careful and walk in it. Even when going down the stairs, it's really dangerous if you don't walk backwards and hold the handrail with both hands. It's very slippery. Even when I sat down, my butt would slip, so I felt a little tired. The indoor bath is from the Konashi no Yu hot spring. I used it as a nice temperature bath after bathing. The outdoor bath is from the Awanoyu hot spring. It is heated. It's a nice warm water. It's the same as the outdoor bath at Awanoyu Ryokan, but there are no bubbles. Both have a wonderful hydrogen sulfide smell that is pleasant. Both dinner and breakfast are country cuisine at the ryokan. Carp dishes were served as the main dish for dinner, and the sweet simmered carp was delicious. I was surprised to see carp dishes served as the main dish here. They said that the rock trout could be eaten from head to tail, but the bones were a bit tough. I used it while thinking about how it compared to Awanoyu Ryokan overall, but the price increase at Marunaga Ryokan along with Awanoyu Ryokan, the overall evaluation of the building, and the lack of bubbles like Awanoyu Ryokan make me feel that the prices are a bit high from the customer's point of view. However, when you consider the new building costs and the hot spring usage fee, I can understand why Marunaga Ryokan needs to keep the prices low. Personally, I feel like they need to lower the price. It's still a good deal if you're looking to enjoy the Konashi no Yu hot spring, though.
