First impressions on arrival were positive. Quite an attractive looking low rise complex with easy parking. Booked a Premium Ocean View 2 queen bed for Myself, wife and son on half board basis. On arrival we'd been allocated one king and a camp bed. Air con was not working but we put up with it. I noticed the bathroom bin was covered in something unpleasant. There was little dialogue from the staff member I spoke with but on day 2, the same staff member approached me and offered an alternative - the room type booked which was in line with expectation and much better. Pool area is tired, tiles missing, grubby in parts, general upkeep could and should be better. Sunbeds very average, many are quite worn. Beach is not great and sea colour suffers from the river alongside. Wild birds do come into the restaurant, especially at breakfast and generally go for the cereals! Food was ok but not great. I asked for the wine list at dinner, which has quite a few wines starting from c £ 40/bottle, but they didn't have any of the wines I'd selected telling me they only had one bottle out of about 15 on the list - priced at around £ 70 - a bottle I'd buy in the UK for around £ 15. Same situation on day 2 so we did not use the buffet restaurant for dinner after that. Guests can have a credit toward two other restaurants - the Blackrock steak restaurant service was poor, food again 'ok'. The Italian is better but all lack service and atmosphere. Day 3 my bed shorts under my pillow went missing - assumedly during housekeeping, never to be seen again. On day 4 the wifi was not available in the room. Had to go to the restaurant for wifi. I reported it and was given a plug in MiFi. That worked sporadically. I'd received a note from Radisson in advance offering payable extras. I selected late check out but never received any response prior to departure from UK. On day of departure, hotel was unable to accommodate so we checked out at noon and used the pool. There is a 'lounge' with 2 showers for guests departing late. The washbasin in one looked like a bear had taken a full body shave and left the contents in the washbasin so I quickly cleaned it before my wife spotted it! used towels were on the floor of both so I removed those to the corridor. The other shower trap was blocked which flooded the bathroom. Seems staff don't pay much attention to this area either. So its not great, but the second room was comfortable with a good view, and we had a car so it didn't stop us having an enjoyable holiday. I would stay southwest of the island in future however for better beaches. In short, hotel needs to improve maintenance, staff training and concentrate on attention to detail. In hindsight, I should've done more research prior to booking.
