Picture paradise and this is it. It is truly wonderful in every sense. I have been fortunate to travel to many places and stayed in many hotels, but this stands out as the best in both location, food and mostly importantly staff. My husband and I arrived on the 27th October and stayed for 4 nights in a sea view villa with pool - 'Rempart'. Well worth the money, but one thing to bear in mind is that these villas are probably the furthest from the bar/restaurant and it is quite a long walk down, on rough tracks/ground - this does then mean a long walk back up. The hotel does offer a 'buggy service for those less able bodied, and I would certainly not be put off by this. Located in the rain forest in Chamarel, it is full of wildlife including birds who do like to join you for meals! Rooms - spacious and very well appointed, mosquito nets are provided as well as tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar and outdoor shower. Very clean and had all the toiletries that you needed, along with fluffy bathrobes. Food - breakfast was buffet style, and although limited compared to some hotels, it was very nice. The evening meal was excellent and the chef is to be commended on the selection of dishes to choose from each evening. Staff - it is hard to describe how magical the staff made you stay. From the first welcome to your departure you were made to feel like one of the family. Lead by example by the wonderful 'Peggy' - she took time to speak to all guests, offering advice and made everyone feel as if they were the most important guest there. Other staff that should be mentioned are Jeremy in the restaurant along with Jocelyn. Alicia on the front desk. All of them worked exceptionally hard and were always smiling. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone considering a holiday on Mauritius. We will definately be going back.
