Hotel was fantastic from the day we arrived until the day we left. We arrived just after 9am and we were given our bands and we went to get some breakfast before they closed. We went back reception after this and we were told everything that we needed to know about the hotel. We were informed that our wasn’t ready but we knew this beforehand and decided that this wasn’t going to be a problem. We went for a walk around the grounds and at around 10:30 we went for a coffee. We were informed at 10:50 that our room was ready for us. We did have issues with the app booking the restaurants but the team on reception helped with this. We did manage to but the Elite club restaurant and Krystal on the app. We enjoyed both of these restaurants. We also went to Bangalore and the steakhouse next door. Loved the idea in the Bangalore with all the main courses placed on the table for us to share. The buffet was okay but preferred the restaurants. Jesil did a fantastic job in the buffet and worked hard every day. You could tell when he wasn’t around. Lill in the Elite club bar did a fantastic job and kept everybody topped up when in the bar. The pool was warm and so was the sea. It can get windy but this did not stop us enjoying our holiday. The cocktails were really good. Would definitely recommend and go back. We would also book Elite club again.

Recently spent 11 nights at this newly refurbished hotel. After a long journey, we were quickly checked in & given an upgraded room with amazing views of the pool, beach & wonderful sunsets. Clean, spacious with a well stocked mini bar. (although we did have to contact reception 3 times one day before we got the promised daily water replenished) The hotel is slightly isolated from the rest of the island & is quite an expensive taxi ride away from civilisation, so perhaps bear this in mind when booking. Amazing beach, though it's often very windy, but as others have mentioned, a short walk to the right will take you to no wind whatsoever, perhaps too hot !! We found the food a little repetitive in the buffet, & at times did struggle to find something we fancied. A la carte restaurants, impossible to book via the app, needs looking at & sorting out pronto ! We did manage to eat in 3 of them however, booking at reception,the Steakhouse being by far the best of these. Asian was fine food wise, but the venue was in a soulless room which was freezing. Now, the Indian, chaos from the word go best sums it up ! Queues of people waiting outside,  all let in at once, mayhem. Buffet as a starter,  set menu for main, which when it eventually was served was bought to the table cold & virtually inedible !! Would expect much more from the Riu Palace brand ! Good selection of drinks, though towards the end of our stay bizarrely some products were unavailable,  poor stock management perhaps ? Big shout out to Guillaume at the Maravanne bar in the evenings. The best barman in the resort by far. Always service with a smile, remembering what our favourite drinks were & keeping us topped up whilst still being able to serve others at the same time. Would also like to mention the lads in the buffet restaurant in the evening, names we can't remember, but they were always smiling & joking with us & of course keeping us topped up with wine. Overall, we had a good time, but felt that some things could definitely be improved upon.
