If you are looking for a unique place close to Kruger then look no further!
What makes Highgrove House truly magical is probably a well kept recipe. If I had to describe it, I’d say that you’d need to mix the hospitality and welcome of staying with family with a well polished high end establishment. Combine it all with the fact that you’re dining in a period mansion house. Top it up with a good measure of peaceful countryside atmosphere and you have the rough recipe for this unique place. I’ve stayed at quite a few high end hotels but these sometimes feel a bit impersonal as they have so many guests. Highgrove is a much more intimate setting and the owners get to know you and they truly care about making sure you have a wonderful and stress-free experience. The room I stayed in was an executive suite which had a balcony and an outdoor shower. It was so beautiful
Of course my favourite part of the stay was the food (I love eating), I dine at Michelin star restaurants and this place really is comparable to that. Everything I ate was fresh and combined incredible flavours. The thing that I thought was remarkable and which even high end hotels or restaurants don’t always get right is that here they take into account your dietary restrictions and don’t just pretend to adjust the menu, they come up with dishes that don’t make you feel that your dietary restrictions are an issue and they ensure that whatever you’re eating is equal to what other guests are eating.

Highgrove is a little bit of heaven that has fallen out of the sky. The most serene and peaceful venue you can get. Food is beyond amazing, service is perfection. Rooms are beautiful, private and perfectly kept. It is a bit of therapy for your soul.

This review has taken far too long to write and I can only apologise as it was June 2024 that we stayed here. This place is just wonderful, one of our best stays on our trip. The location is perfect, the hotel is just stunning and the staff are the best. I 100% recommend staying here. The rooms and lovely as is the bar. The restaurant, staff and food is some of the best I have done, especially being Veggie!!. It was all catered for me. It's on a working farm with some fantastic views. It was was great to sit in the evening have a chat with the staff over drinks, so friendly and professional, and top service. Thanks all, Love Ian & Gemma XX thanks to all.

Nous avons été très chaleureusement reçu par Katy et Tracy. La propriété est incroyable, un lieu à part, un parc luxuriant où les chambres sont situées dans des petites maisons indépendantes. . Notre suite était très grande, cosy, avec tous les équipements, un salon, une piscine, une salle de bain intérieure et une extérieure avec un sauna. Nous avons dîné sur place, c'était délicieux, très bien cuisiné avec des produits de qualité. Tracy avait réservé un safari au parc Kruger, et nous avait préparé notre déjeuner à emporter et malgré le départ très matinal était présente avec le café et le thé Le service et la gentillesse de l'équipe est incroyable. Merci encore à tous pour ce séjour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Highgrove House. The rooms were spacious and luxurious. The meals prepared by Thelma deserve 5 stars. Tracy and Johlene went the extra mile to ensure a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

We decided to stay just outside Kruger and do a self drive holiday. Highgrove House gave us as much as it promised - quiet lush colonial location in a gated working Macadamia and avocado farm. Delicious nightly 6 course dinners were included with a lovely breakfast which gave us enough time to explore the surrounds including the Panorama route and of course Kruger Park. The rooms are very spacious with indoor/ outdoor showers and we even had a nice wood fire in our lounge to keep us warm at night. We were particularly appreciative of our friendly host Tracy who always made us feel welcome and also found Johlene the manager very kind and helpful with travel and other advice. The other staff were always so welcoming, helpful and their service was faultless. For those wanting a relaxing and reasonably priced 5 star stay in the Kruger area then this is the place for you. My advice is hire a car and drive - it’s barely 45 minutes from Nelspruit Airport and similar distance to the Parks and the roads are easy to drive on. Would love to come and stay again.
