I booked a couple nights at this place hoping to relax and enjoy a peaceful environment before taking the a 38 hour trip to Kenya to do charity work and the manager at this place couldn’t have made me want to walk out of this hotel more even if he tried to! Don’t get me wrong the staff were pretty nice but the person “in charge” as he put it, was a whole other experience. I got a room for two people under my name and my girlfriend’s name but stayed in the hotel mostly to myself, I had a friend come over one afternoon (while I was alone) so we could do some last minute arrangements for the trip and these people acted like he was the biggest criminal in all Medellin and asked him to leave because his name wasn’t in the reservation, which I understood was their policy, but since I really didn’t want to have to walk around and find a place to work I put my Spanish speaking friend on the phone with the guy in charge to get her to ask if I could sit in the lobby with him and get work done and the answer he gave was “No he has to leave and if he doesn’t like that, that’s how we do things in all of our hotels so he can leave as well and we’ll see how we can refund him. I’d understand if we were in the middle of nowhere but there’s co-workings everywhere in Laureles for 5,000 pesos” Mind you I had no idea what he was saying because all of this was said in Spanish and with a huge smile so I thought all was well until my friend told me other wise. He was rude for no reason and had an arrogant and horrible attitude, proceeding to say he was in charge and there was nothing he could do.
