Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis East
4.1/598 Reviews
Hotel was pretty basic in terms of amenities. Cleanliness was not their strong suit- literally dust and small hairs on our bathroom light fixtures. You have to ask for housekeeping -it’s not automatic-and we found ourselves frequenting the front desk for fresh plastic cups, coffee pods and fresh washcloths. Trash built up in the room from carry out. TV shows “froze” every few minutes for several seconds. Wi-fi worked well. AC worked well. Hallway carpets simply grungy with dirt and stains. Breakfast was standard and ok. Didn’t use the pool or workout room. If I paid $85-100/night I would’ve been satisfied. $170/night (before taxes) is way overpriced for this facility.
Studio 6 Memphis, TN – East Memphis

This location was the worst place I've ever stayed at in my 39+years or staying hotels (the staff was friendly). First room wouldn't lock the door, next room smelled freshly cleaned but was beyond bad. Doors falling off cabinets, carpet just soo bad. Smoke detector hanging by its wires. A bed that was 5 years past its life expectancy, all of the furniture belongs in a bonfire. The TV was the only thing in the room that was decent, however it would not turn off. Remote did everything but turn it off. The TV was on when I entered the room. Bugs, oh boy there were bugs. Didn’t notice them until I flipped the light on in the bathroom early in the morning. Yikes. The 6:15 am fire alarm was a surprise. What I’m most surprised by is the company lets this happen and I’m shocked it’s still in the franchise... Do yourself a favor, find another location, anyplace but this place. It is soo rundown and in need of a serious refresh. Lastly, breakfast?? Coffee, Tea, bags of oatmeal that you add the coffee tasting water to or granola bars. Nothing more, nothing. My hot tea was more coffee tasting than I’ve ever had. I would have left but I was dropped off and didn’t have a ride.
Extended Stay America Suites - Memphis - Germantown

We booked this extended stay at the last minute and the accommodate my family. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and it was quite at night. Only thing that didn’t work in our room was the smoke detector is was totally missing which we reported and on the second day someone was put out on the curb with all their belongings. Other than that we would definitely stay at this location again

Hampton Inn Memphis-Walnut Grove/Baptist East

I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel. I don't know how they are able to fly a Hampton flag and pass inspection. It's more like a Motel 6. We arrived at 1:30am and without even being asked our name or confirmation number, the front desk agent said since it was after midnight that our reservations were cancelled and we would have to try and rebook online and we wouldn't be guaranteed the same rates, etc. This was not what I wanted to hear after being on an airplane all day. I told her she didn't know what she was talking about and she kept arguing with me. I said here is my confirmation number and then she was like, ”Oh, I see, you already checked in on-line so you are good to go!” um yes, this is what I was trying to say if you would've asked appropriate questions instead of just basically telling me I wasn't going to have a room. All I needed was a physical key. We got our keys and then she asked about our car and made it a point to say that cars get broken in to all of the time so just to keep an eye on it! So once that was all figured out, we went up to our room/s only to find out we had no towels and no remote and the bathroom totally smelled like ****. We had to keep our bathroom door shut our entire time. It was coming through the vents. Since it was so late and we had more than 1 room, I wasn't even going to try and ask for a different room at this point. We just wanted to get to sleep. We slept in the next morning after our late night. Breakfast is supposed to be from 6am-9am. We got downstairs at 8:40am and basically everything was out. The breakfast attendant was extremely rude when people were asking if she was going to replenish anything. We ended up going out for breakfast. Part of the reason I choose Hamptons is for the FREE HOT BREAKFAST!! Also our Heating/AC didn't work at all. There was a thermostat on the wall that didn't work, so we tried to do it on the actual unit - no luck. We had no hot water during our stay, just luke warm, the tub didn't drain so you stood in a foot of water by the end of your shower. The hotel is outdated, no fridge or microwaves in the rooms, rude staff, no vending or soda machines. I filled out the Hilton survey specifically asking for a call back and of course nobody has called yet to follow up on these issues. I heard other guests saying they didn't have hot water either. There are plenty of other choices out there to stay at. I wish I would've read the reviews before booking this hotel.
