Probably the best hotel in Mestia. Although the hotel is not in the center of Mestia, it is large, new, clean, and has good facilities. The suite is very large and well decorated. The blue and white colors are more refined than those of ordinary hotels. Complete toiletries and bathrobes. The suite has a large balcony, facing the hillside across the river, with a group of watchtowers, surrounded by snow-capped mountains on the left and right. On the second morning of my stay, there happened to be a full moon hanging on the top of the mountain opposite, and the scenery was beautiful.

The most commendable thing here is the breakfast. You can see the ancient watchtowers in the east and west. It takes more than 10 minutes to walk to the town of Messidia and about half an hour from the hiking point.

Very good value for money. (even by Georgian standards) Very nice breakfast and accommodation. Location is also pretty decent with great view. Very friendly service. Rooms were perfect. Restaurant is also great to dine in and u don't have to search other places.

Hotel may be the best in Mestia but is still 3 star, not 4. Construction quality is poor. Everything is laminated particle board, which is a bit odd when Mestia is surrounded by forests. Super noisy. You either hear or feel the vibration of closing doors anywhere in the entire hotel. You hear any conversations in the hallway. The hotel is quite a ways out of town (15 minute walk), so not convenient when you want to go eat. Staff was indifferent and bored. When I arrived I asked for advice on how to get to Ushguli. I was told I needed to take a car arranged by the hotel for 300 GEL, or maybe I could try to find other people who were renting a car and try to share. They failed to mention there were numerous agencies in town where you could easily find a shared van for 50 GEL. I made a point of not eating in the restaurant once I realised this so as not to give them any more money.

Beautiful modern hotel with excellent facilities. Minutes walk from Mestia centre. Amazing view from the balcony. Rooms are spacious, very clean. Staff is highly professional and super friendly. The restaurant is probably one of the best in Mestia. Highly recommend both for business and leisure travelers.

Mestia is a small town which is very atmospheric. With the stone towers all around you, against the backdrop of towering snow clad mountains, the town is an incredible place to be. Gistola hotel appears to be the biggest hotel in town. We found it to be modern, very comfortable and nice for our stay. Positives: 1. Comfortable and new hotel 2. Very clean rooms and new linen 3. Nice views from the river facing / front side rooms 4. Superb Manager Ms. Maya and some excellent Front Office staff and support staff (Mr. Tedo) Areas of improvement: 1. Restaurant staff was clearly new and lacked training. Inconsistent replies when asked for an 'omlette'. One day we got it easily, another day the waitress said it would be chargeable. When I asked to be spoken to the Manager, she quietly organized for it. 2. Breakfast menu was mostly the same for all the 3 days we were there Clearly there is scope for an improved menu which changes everyday. I must mention some amazing service given by Mr. Tedo. We had a small accident during our hike when my wife fell down and twisted her knee. We had to visit the local hospital and the hotel graciously sent us in their van, which waited for us all the while when my wife was getting medical attention. Mr. Tedo appeared out of his own at the hospital and helped us. Language can be a big challenge and his presence was helpful and reassuring. One of the days, there was an internet outage, again Mr. Tedo provided my wife with a free sim card with unlimited internet. Apart from being very helpful with information on hikes etc., these 2 acts by Mr. Tedo were exemplary. I think the hotel is building a swimming pool and a Sun deck. They would be welcome additions. With right training to their restaurant staff and some improvement in breakfast menu, they have the potential to become a superb place. I would rate them VERY GOOD and will happily stay there again!

I had an amazing time at Gistola Hotel with my two little kids. It is a kid friendly hotel with a playground built outside on the side of the hotel which made it so much easier for my kids to stay active and have fun. There is a cozy and extremely positive vibe as soon as you walk in the lobby greeted by smiling reception staff at the front desk. The lobby is equipped with a bar if you want to get a drink, they got various table games, books to read, warm blankets and umbrellas. The Lobby is spacious with good internet connection (was important for me as I was working from the hotel). The room was super clean and modern with a great mountain and river view. Bathroom clean and equipped with exceptional toiletries with sewing kit, shower cap, toothpaste/brush, etc. Housekeeping was outstanding. The kitchen staff was friendly, helping us select the authentic dishes, always ready to assist us. Speaking about menu: its got variety of soup/salad selection and authentic Georgian and Svan food selection translated in English. My kids still had their kid menu with chicken nuggets, fries and pizza in case they got picky on trying other food. I was especially amazed by the selection of fresh food/fruits/pastries at breakfast time. We took several trips and tours that hotel had to offer with their van with highly skilled drivers. The driver staff was extremely careful on driving on long trips, extremely respectful and friendly. Few trips we took were to: Ushguli, Becho (Shikhra), Heshkili, took cable car ride to the Zuruldi cafe to have a beer and enjoy the wonderful views (yet to see Tetnuldi and Koruldi Lakes). My most favorite tour was to: Becho (Shikhra). I’m planning on coming back to Gistola hotel next summer. Also, its worth knowing they are having the addition of pool, gym and rooftop terrace with amazing views. Highly recommend this place for quiet, productive, relaxing stay with wonderful staff!!

The hotel is a top-notch one in town. Staff is professional with good food and clean rooms. All equipment is 4-star level. There was also an incident which the hotel staff name Tedo handled it quite well. The city encountered a power blackout during midnight and I couldn’t take a shower or work as both water supply and internet was affected. Tedo helped make some phone calls to chase the progress of fixing problems and got me some water to calm me down. Tedo told me that the hotel backup power generator was also fixed and said next time even if the town might be hit, the hotel could be able to provide substitute power supply. Also hotel was nice to refund me one night. I see professionalism in dealing with sudden incidents and applaud for this.

Beautiful hotel! Full of personal bottles for shampoo, conditioner, shower gel more than one per person! Room service available, excellent breakfast, location a bit inconvenient but 15 minutes from the center, many other personal items such as dental kit, soap etc... very clean and charming. I highly recommend it

It is a good hotel, a little away from the center of Mestia, with rooms that offer large panoramic terraces in addition to the large shared solarium. Spacious and bright rooms, tidy services, restaurant without a great atmosphere but with food served in generous portions and well presented, breakfast more than enough to please everyone. Everywhere you can find old black and white photos of the Caucasus of yesteryear.
