Return visit to the Angel Inn hotel. Comfortable room, much quieter than previously, with a good continental breakfast, served up from 8am. Really handy for local visits and dinner in Midhurst. Good service and helpful staff made this a pleasing return visit.

Nice olde inn in a the lovely town of Midhurst. Room was comfortable & free parking. But at £259 a night B&B you would think the breakfast would be ‘special’. Far from it- there is NO breakfast. The kitchen was closed but this was not mentioned when we booked. They could not even rustle up a sausage. Very disappointing

What a fantastic hotel. The staff, Mott and her sister Nann are extremely attentive and want you to be happy with your stay. We booked just one night as we were attending a funeral locally. We arrived a bit too early so our room wasn't quite ready, but Mott was more than happy to show us to a lovely room that was available. This building is extremely old, so the floorboards do creek a bit but that just adds to the whole quaint and quirkyness of this amazing hotel. Breakfast was continental but there was so much to choose from, we didn't go hungry. Great hotel, lovely staff and excellent location for Midhurst and surrounding areas. Will definately be staying here again.

I booked a double room for 2 nights at a charge of some £360. On arrival there did not seem to be anyone else staying, nor did I see any customers. I was told there was no chef, so they were only serving continental breakfast. The room allocated had been redecorated but not much was working. There was only a small amount of loo roll left, which meant I was having to search around the apparently empty hotel at 3am for loo rolls. The bar had no one in it, but it was difficult even getting the bar person to speak due to being on the phone. There was no wine list available, so the bar person was rummaging through the stock to say what there was. The second night there was a change of room to no 4, which was better but again without any semblance of useful space to put items. When at the sink, it was almost impossible to avoid banging your head on the glass shelf, and there was no bath mat, such that it was dangerous getting out of the bath. The owner/manager very kindly recommended a restaurant called the Duke of Cumberland which was excellent.

Fantastic! I've stayed in hotels everywhere I've paid a lot for hotels but this one is awesome. It's daft things like proper pillows. Enough pillows. Cottenham buds. Water by the bed, earplugs just little things make it awesome. I will actually find an excuse to stay here in the future. It has a bar as well. Food next door is brilliant I'll review that to.

The scarcity of accommodation in this locality means that - choose your own metaphor here - you can pay an arm & a leg, or through the nose(bag) to stay in this tired establishment. Earplugs come free with rooms that face the road but no bottled water or flannels, and take a look at the pipe on the bathroom wall that passes for a shower in the "honeymoon suite". Bring your own device if want to stream TV, as their ancient screens only provide Freeview circa 2005. Breakfast was Ok with sausage & bacon sourced from a superior butcher, but given that 1 egg is hard to scramble, it would have been nice to have been offered an option for 2 when fried. Stay here when there's no Polo at Cowdray Park or racing at Goodwood, and there's a small chance that you might feel that you paid for something worthwhile.

My fiancé and I stayed here weds 23rd-thurs 24th February for the first time. We had eaten here before, in December 2021 and have also booked in for 16th December 2022, which is the night before our wedding. We have also booked multiple family members and friends in as well- it is such a beautiful hotel and the staff really go the extra mile. The bar areas are always clean and pleasant to spend time in and the food has always been delicious. We look forward to coming back many more times between now and December and I would recommend this place to anyone. Highly recommend. It really is a beautiful place.

We were disappointed to find that our booking had been mistakenly noted as 'lunch'. But the real issue was the inability of the 4 members of staff to offer us and our children an alternative, whether or not to consult 'Sue' (?) or even to apologise to us... In the midst of their confusion they shared that afternoon tea is made a day in advance, so I guess that it might not have been all that fresh anyway. We went to Madeline's Deli instead - superb - separate review.

Well let’s start, walked to our room and found that it was not the room we booked as we asked for the 4 poster bed and our room was a standard room there was 2 polar bears in the corner of the room and 2 penguins in the bathroom it was that cold, this was at 4.00 pm I spoke to the manager , I was told that the boilers had tripped out even though there was some heat coming from the radiators but as the windows were old and the secondary glazing was letting the cold air in the heat from the rads was not enough to heat the room, I did explain that this was meant to be a romantic weekend and the manager offered us some cheap champagne, at 7.00pm the staff finally bought up a heater by then my wife was frozen and the polar bears had started throwing snow balls at the penguins, we went out and returned at 10.0 pm and finally the room had warmed up, my wife then spent the night lying in bed not sleeping due to the old windows rattling all night, in the morning we were treated to a continental breakfast even though it was meant to be a full English and was told we would get a refund for the breakfast (£20), so when we checked out thinking due to what had happened the manager would knock off something for the room but when I spoke to him I was told there was nothing he was going to do nothing at all and that was it, I have never had someone speak to me like that he was rude and obnoxious, and I must say the staff was helpful but hands were tied due to the management and the room was dirty (see photo)
