The hotel was very quick to respond to my last-minute requests for extra guests and shuttle service. All the staff were friendly, and the meals were delicious. The bedding was clean, which was a plus, and the onsen (hot spring) was well-maintained, so I'd highly recommend it to other travelers. A unique feature is that they also have facilities for pets, so it seems you can bring your dog along. Their mascot, N-chan, was incredibly cute; I just wanted to keep looking at her!

Fantastic atmosphere! The hotel is very close to the main attractions in Kurokawa Onsen. The rooms themselves are quite spacious and come with air conditioning (heater). When we realized we didn't have a 100V adapter, the staff quickly found us a charging station with USB output. The hotel has 6 private onsen rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis. There's a separate app on the TV to track their availability. In mid-March, there was enough availability for everyone. But if you don't want to wait, you can always go to the shared men's/women's onsen. I really liked that you're not allowed to wear shoes inside the ryokan (the residential area); you have to leave them until check-out and receive slippers to wear around the premises. Oh, and I almost forgot – there's a lady at the front desk who speaks excellent English, big thanks to her for explaining the main rules!

Location was nearby to the shopping street and overall the experience was good at the ryokan. The staff will try to communicate even though they are not fluent in English. The meals served was pretty good.

This is the best hotel in Kurokawa! 1. Stuff is kindly meet you, explain everything and help as well as it possible. 2. Ryokan has 6(!) private bathes with different style. No extra payment,, no reservation. You can available status on your TV. During my staying there was at least one ready for use, no time all of them was using. 3. Water. Just perfect, has a right temperature and composition. Just put yourself into the bath and feel relaxed just since that second. 4. Rooms. Clean and fresh. 5. Open-air bath is cool to, for me a bit too hot. And I was the only one who use it during the dinner time. 6. I had only breakfast, but it is service in private room in dinner hall. Very delicious with various of dishes. 7. The hotel located at two sides of the river. Travelers could enjoy a scenic view from the bridge.

It was wonderful. Great hot springs, a variety of baths, friendly staff, and cleanliness. There's a shuttle to the bus stop, and the ryokan is conveniently located overall. I highly recommend the breakfasts!

A stunning ryukan, a very picturesque village, with both public and private onsen. Kaiseki is very varied and rich. The room is large and authentic, with a split-system air conditioner, which was a relief in the cold. The only downside, of course, is the difficulty in accessing the village.

Beautiful room with a river view. The onsens are varied and excellent. Choose the full package with dinner; it's absolutely delicious.
