We were here with a group, booked through a travel operator. Is a very nice play to stay! Now I guess things can be a bit different if you book yourself for just a few people, so beware of that. We were here for about 8 days, around new years eve. The staff consists out of a family from the UK and a Dutch staff member, they were all very friendly and helped us as good as they could. They picked us up from the airport in Stockholm (which is about 5-6 hours drive from Johannisholm). Since we arrived in the afternoon, there weren't any planned activities for that day, which was good, since everybody was tired already. We had three of the appartments in the big cabins for our group. You can't compare those to the luxury of hotel rooms, but they are still good! For what I know, they are still the same buildings from what was a small town around a glass factory in the past. So yeah, the buildings are old, but they do the best they can to keep them in a good state. Dinner and breakfeast were provided for us each day, as well as bed linnen and toilet paper. The Dutch staff member guided us with the activities and she also explained each evening, during dinner, what the plan for the next day was. Even though we were also provided with a roster for the whole time we were there. Also Jim, one of the owners, was with us during most of the activities. Sometimes one of the other members from the family, which owns the place, were there as well. For the activities that were a bit farther away, we were always driven to by the staff members. The staff did the best they could to give us the best vacation as possible, even though sometimes it didn't fit that well in their planning, they were still flexibile enough to change things around to help us wil that. All the activities were very well planned and it's a very nice enviroment in between a forest and lakes. On the day we had to leave, they brought us back to the airport (at night time, we left at 04:00) , which was a 5-6 hour ride again. I do really recommed this place! Again, I don't really know how it goes if you book yourself for just a couple of people, since we had this booked to a travel operator here in The Netherlands. The staff goes with the group during activities a lot of the time, and therefore there isn't much staff left on the proparty during those time, to gather for the needs of the other people there. During our time, only one family arrived half way the week we were that, which joined for one of the activities we did. Also I don't know how it is to stay in the mini cabins. All our activities were pre-planned way in advance, so I don't know how it goes when you want to plan something a day in advance. They have groups coming over a lot of the time though, which is probably the main income for them.
