My 2 boys got me a 1 day fishing trip at Kagoagh Resort for my 80th birthday. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. Our goal was salmon and we also had time for halibut. The lodge is fully modern and the rooms have the most comfortable queen size beds. The dinners were to die for. 5 star crab, shrimp, halibut, Caesar salad, steak. You choose. During our trip, Tyler (joint owner) guided on one boat and Alexa guided on ours and gave us a most memorable fishing experience. Many fish were caught, and the guides looked after filleting while I believe the ladies bagged, labeled and froze them. I am recommending Kagoagh to anyone who wants a great ocean fishing trip and I hope to return myself someday.

Amazing experience. The owners are extremely thoughtful, friendly and were outstanding hosts both on and off the water. Fishing was amazing, boat, gear, guides were all fantastic. Meals were delicious, rooms were clean and we felt very welcome and well cared for. Would highly recommend this place

From the moment you are greeted with the smell of freshly baked cookies and the taste of sparkling wine to the sad moment when you have to leave behind the thoughtful and attentive smiles of Gina and Tyler this is an experience to die for. The place has a spectacular view across the full expanse of Hecate Cove, you get three meals of equally spectacular cuisine (ask Gina for the bouillabaisse) and you get very friendly service tailored exactly to your needs. For an out-of-the-way lodge the rooms are way more comfortable and luxurious than I have experienced at other remote lodges with beautiful decor, hot showers, comfortable beds and those oh so glorious views. A group of us were there to kayak and despite returning from our trips each afternoon dripping salt water from our neoprene clothes and booties there was always a place to hang and dry our things and, of course, those marvellous baked goods as a greeting. And on the one day of fishing that a group of us took we came home with enough halibut and ling cod to exceed our expectations. Five days at Kagoagh Lodge left me refreshed and revived for the next year, until my return next May!

Our family of five (all adults) recently stayed and fished at Kagoagh Lodge and Resort, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was completely wonderful and first-rate, including the accommodations, food, guided fishing, and the welcome and hospitality provided by everyone at the lodge. Our guides were Tyler (who owns the resort along with his wife Gina, who graciously and generously hosted us at the lodge) and Alexei (“Big A”). Both were very accommodating and personable, knowledgeable and expert guides who took us to the best and most productive spots on both our fishing days (we limited out during two days of fishing for chinook and coho salmon, ling cod and halibut, and even got a few rockfish). We also greatly enjoyed just spending time conversing with them and being educated about the fishing and the general area, as well as just joking around together (along with another guide - Thomas/“Rooster” - who was the guide for another party). After the fishing, the guides/staff also immediately and expertly clean and dress your catch for you, then vacuum-seal and flash-freeze it to preserve freshness for the trip home. The three-course meals and baking prepared by Gina and her staff (Mac and Naomi) onsite at the lodge were sumptuous and delicious, and even the packed sandwich lunches and snacks for the boats were great and totally satisfying. The lodge itself is very clean and comfortable, well-appointed and up-to-date, and even provides a large “Rec Room” area where guests can lounge or play pool, table tennis, foosball, shuffleboard, darts and basketball shooting, or even work out when not fishing. All-in-all, a top-notch lodge and resort with access to great fishing grounds, and the time we spent there surpassed our expectations; we definitely plan to return, and would highly recommend it to others! Thanks Tyler, Gina and everyone at Kagoagh for a most enjoyable time, and memories that our family will cherish forever!

This was the most amazing vacation/fishing trip we have experienced. We caught our limit of Tuna , Halibut , Coho Salmon, and Ling cod. Owner /operator Tyler and his assistant guide, the fishing gear, the new boat, were all top Notch. All the meals that Gina prepared for us were amazing and absolutely delicious. The accommodations were top rate. We will be booking again. And we loved Stella. Thank you Tyler and Gina, it was an amazing trip

More joy and laughter than stars up above. Second experience with my gal pal fishing at Kagoagh Lodge. You may arrive rather stressed? If so - - Welcome to a world of beauty/peace/love and harmony. It's all there at your fingertips. And fish??? No guarantees in the fishing world but they are out there !!!! Mother Nature is a fact. Weather is reality. Fishing is a sport. Be prepared for anything. Luck was on our side. Salmon, halibut, lingcod, beautiful smaller rockfish - - caught them all. Two outstanding Captains at the wheel. Hallsee & AA - Scrappie & Nygard bow with thanks. We had a ridiculously fun feeding frenzy at one spot. Coho biting keeping me roaring with delight. True story - - We actually caught a keeper coho first cast, second day in under 5 seconds ! 3 witnesses Assistance at all times should I need it. Responsible, knowledgeable, skilled Captains on duty for us during those two ten hour treks. Michele was there for me too. Fun at it's finest. The food, sweet Gina and staff - - Our road trip was 100 percent perfect. ✨

Spent my birthday here and had an amazing time. Gina and Tyler were amazing and greeted us with treats as soon as we arrived. Our seafood dinner was exceptional, and Gina's homemade muffins didn't disappoint. Beautiful and peaceful oceanfront view, especially in the hot tub. The rooms were nice and clean, and I did enjoy the private patio attached to the room. Would definitely love to go back and enjoy this lodge again. Highly recommended.

For first-time fishermen (like me), or for veteran anglers, Kagoagh Lodge will exceed your expectations with home-style hospitality, authentic accommodations and unparalleled fishing. Since I’ve never vacationed at any fishing lodge, let alone one located in the heart of a Canadian rainforest, I’ll share a few additional details on this once-in-a-lifetime (or is it?) holiday. We started our adventure with two nights in Vancouver. Unless you are in a rush, spending a night or two in Victoria or Vancouver to get oriented is a great way to start. Vancouver is very lively in the summer and offers comfortable hotels, fantastic restaurants and ample sight-seeing. We chose to take the BC Ferries from Vancouver to Vancouver Island, then drove roughly four hours north to Kagoagh. Arrival and Accommodations: We arrived in the afternoon and I took a moment to check out the 19 foot whale jaw and chainsaw collection at Coal Harbour’s RCAF Museum. From there, we met a boat from Kagoagh and took a short ride to the lodge for the next three nights. Gina, one of the owners, greeted us warmly and we took the opportunity to relax before dinner. Kagoagh has seven or so rooms and I shared one (“Chum”) with a member of my party. The rooms are super-clean, comfortable and well appointed with an en suite bathroom, television, wifi and a desk. All the rooms face Hecate Cove and look down on the Kagoagh’s extraordinary dock. Downstairs, we found a small bar and comfortable dining area, plus plenty of recreational opportunities like darts, foosball and table tennis. Fishing: Kagoagh’s fishing, and accompanying nature experience, is not to be forgotten. We were up early and on the water by 5:30am. Our boat was Kagoagh’s brand new six person fishing “Cadillac”. The boat was sturdy, comfortable, and ate up the Pacific’s choppy waters with ease. Finding fish is never guaranteed, but our guide and co-owner Ty knew where to look. I caught at or near my limit both days. We fished for lingcod, salmons and halibut. Ty’s expert and patient guidance made for a memorable experience. Enough cannot be said about the natural beauty that surrounds Kagoagh Lodge. From sea otters, to whales, to the beautiful eagle I spotted on the last afternoon, Kagoagh is impressive for its setting as well as its sport. Dining: Lastly, our stay included thoughtfully prepared meals to complete the experience. Gina and her team offered cooked-to-order options for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch on the boat, and delicious dinners to cap off the day. Dinner includes a choice of entrees. Beer and cocktails were also available for a small additional charge. To wrap it all up, Kagoagh can help prepare your fish to take home or, as we required, a local vendor will process, freeze and ship your catch for a fee. We had a special experience from start to finish. As my party exited from Kagoagh’s Bay (Watch)ing the Lodge disappear around the corner of Hecate Cove), we vowed to return som
