Mountain View Hotels in Schonau am Konigssee

This is a stunning hotel in a stunning location. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and pretty much everyone speaks very good English. The room we stayed in was large with an incredible view of the mountains. There was a large very comfortable bed and a really nice bathroom. They have a lovely scheme where you can opt to skip housekeeping for the day and they will pay for a tree to be planted instead. The pool areas are wonderful and there are so many different areas to sit, relax and take in the views. While we were there this included paragliders floating over the valley. I was very very impressed by the food. Our first meal was the set menu for dinner. We had no idea how much it would be but we were astonished that it was only €25 each. The quality of each course was very high, so we opted to eat in the hotel each night. Breakfasts were also great with a huge choice of continental and cooked items. The selection of teas and the freshly squeezed juice were both very welcome. Between 2pm and 4pm there are also free ‘snacks’ available but this is again a sizeable selection of meat, cheese, salads, bread and absolutely delicious cakes, which were a full meal rather than a snack. I have stayed in similarly priced hotels and it always seems like the drinks and food are an absolute rip off but at the Alpenhof everything is so reasonably priced. We could not have been happier here it is an absolute gem!

The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, the breakfast food is of high quality, rich and delicious, and it is lingering. During breakfast time, our family had a pleasant morning. The hotel is in a small town on the hillside and the environment is beautiful. The breakfast variety is quite rich, that is, the restaurant has flies, and the waiter does not care. The room is small, has a fridge and no kettle. At the time of check-in, the front desk staff clearly told us that you should never use your own household appliances, such as a hot water bottle, saying that someone had burned water before and burned the furniture. The most important thing is that there is almost no network, the signal is slow, and the front desk is explained. It is explained that the entire region is currently doing network upgrades. Overall, the attitude of the service staff was a bit cold, and the hotel had no highlights.

We spend this hotel 3 nights and we really loved it. The garden and the outdoor pool area very nice and have a pleasant atmosphere. It is worth leaving time to sit here and enjoy a drinks from the bar. It is a very good program after a 5-6 hours hiking :) Our room was big enough and was comfortable. We loved the terrace, every evening we sat there. In the room we had a small fridge, I think it is very useful in summertime. My favorite part in the room was the light blue wooden shutters. The breakfast was very tasty with a large / wide selection. The dinner was also very nice, there are half-board menu, but if you want you can choose a la carte. There are more houses, one house is next to the pool (we stayed here and our terrace was facing to the pool, I liked it) and here is the bar which is open till 22:00. The other big building you can have breakfast and dinner, and there is the indoor pool. Between the two big building there is a corridor (underground) so if it is raining you can choose this route. In our building there was no elevator, but it was OK for us. This hotel is a dog friendly hotel. But here you get more than that, they not only let you bring your dog, but they love them. There is welcome package for dogs also, of course they don't get welcome drink, they get dog treats and a blanket. I think is a very kind and touching approaching. We really loved the hotel, the location (just a short walk and you could see very nice view to the Mount Watzmann) the meals and the services.
