We booked a 'courtyard deluxe' room, and were very satisfied: spacious, with an ample seating area, and super quiet. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom also spacious, very clean, with high end toiletries. Munich suffered pretty hot weather during our stay, and the a/c was fully up to the task. We paid for in-hotel breakfast, which is somewhat steep, and were rewarded on the weekend with a impressive buffet, including unusual vegetable salads as well as smoked fish and the usual cheeses, meats, and fruit. The coffee was excellent. On the one weekday of our stay, there was no buffet: you ordered individual dishes, which were fine, although not perhaps good value for the price, The location is very central, and the Viktualenmarkt is fun to walk around, to buy provisions at, and to eat and drink in the beer garden.

I like this hotel too much. It’s a 15-minute walk from the Central Railway Station. Cross the pedestrian street. Don’t take a taxi. It can be reached by mobile phone navigation. It is a very European-style hotel. The environment, service and breakfast are all very good. Very recommended. There is a taxi stand at the entrance of the hotel, which makes it easy to get around by taxi. The hotel itself is at the exit of the pedestrian street, shopping is also invincible!

We are here now. Reserved 2 rooms to accommodate 4 people, one for 3 adults, the other for 1 adult. They brought us a roll away bed for the 3rd adult and when I asked the front desk, they said they had no rooms to accommodate 3 adults with 3 proper beds. (Then why offer it as an option?). We were offered to move to a larger room, for the larger price, but would still only get the roll away bed for the 3rd adult. Accommodations…..incredibly dissatisfied. Especially for a 5 star hotel. We were ignored, not exaggerating, when we pulled up with our vehicle. While trying to parallel park to unload, 2 employees stood joking around. A colleague stopped what he was doing, interrupted them, and all but got in their face to tell them to help us! At this point I was pissed! And mind you, i was outside of the car and they had no idea i was with the car……so i was witness to it all. They were kissing the feet of the others (who were not wearing sweat pants) and legitimately IGNORED us. I was PISSED. Not because I’m stuck on myself, but because it’s so true. If you don’t LOOK a certain way, especially at this 5 star hotel, YOU WILL BE IGNORED. Don’t hate on me for my honest review. Just know that if TRUE luxury is what you’re seeking, no matter what you look like or what you drive, you may have better luck down the road. It’s not here. Best of luck and let’s hope I’m one of the few who has had to experience this.

Breakfast is still relatively standard, bread sausage ham eggs juice cheese, etc. The hotel is very close to the train station. Next to the Karstadt Mall, there is an Oriental supermarket on the third floor of the mall. It is a new large Chinese thing. There is also a large supermarket next to it. You can buy bread, fruit, snacks and other daily food. Walk east to Carl Square a few hundred meters away from the hotel, then continue east to Maria Square, Munich's famous church, commercial street is around. Hotel facilities are good, clean and upscale, the room is relatively large, we are with children, so we booked a room that allows children to stay. The big bed is put together by two small beds. It is quite comfortable and big enough.

This fairly small private hotel is a joy. The rooms are extremely well appointed and hold one great advantage over similar hotels in the vicinity of Munchen Hbf. ...... they feature kitchenette facilities (microwave, fridge and two electric rings). For supplies there is a Rewe supermarket a few minutes walk from the hotel. The staff are fabulous; from reception to room service. Although Schilerstrasse may not be to everyone's taste the hotel is virtually at the Hbf. end of the street so a visitor, if he/she so wishes, can avoid the 'Hostess' bars which are further down the street. Within a 10 minute walk you are right in the main shopping centre of the city. All the main brewery run restaurants are also within a 30 minute meander ...... Weisses Brauhaus, Andechser am Dom, zum Augustiner and zum Franziskaner.

For a tourist, the best place to live in Munich is Old Town. This hotel is located in an ugly building. Also, the lobby is quite modest. The breakfast room is stylish. The breakfast was very pleasant with a good selection of food. We were lucky that our room was ready on arrival at 11:15. We had booked a comfort room that is the second-best category after the only suite on the 7th floor. Our room was located on the 5th floor. The views were not great. There was a building opposite the narrow street. Our room was quite spacious with a separate bedroom and living room. However, the living room was very sp****ly furnished, with just two small chairs and a table. There would have been room for a sofa. The bathroom was small but quite functional. On our last day, there was a strange incident. Our room had been cleaned while we were enjoying breakfast. We had left all our stuff on the bed in the order to quickly pack when we returned from breakfast. However, the bed had been made (probably with the sheets we had used). Hopefully, the room was recleaned after our departure. Because of the location, the value was somewhat better for the paid 236 euros per night than in our first hotel, Cocoon Hauptbahnhof. A small minibar replenished daily was included in the price.

Fantastic location, steps from the Marienplatz. One of the highlights of our trip was walking up the steps from the SBahn and experiencing the 360degree view of the Marienplatz ! We loved the room and the breakfasts. We especially appreciated the exceptional customer service: My wife and I both arrived with bad colds. Over the counter meds were not working fast enough. Multiple staff members arranged for an appointment with a local Doctor on a Monday morning. This saved our vacation. Absolutely would return next time in Munich!

Well, I didn't 'go' in October, but I tried to! I booked for one night through ***********, the hotel takes the money directly. The booking was confirmed by *********** having gone through the usual 2-factor Visa verification. The next day they emailed saying that the hotel had informed them my card was 'declined' and I needed to supply new card details. This worried me as I knew there the card was fine so I wasted an hour calling my bank - eventually I spoke to someone there who was able to tell me that the problem was that the hotel had tried to enter the details through a manual system, which does not meet the security requirements, and so the transaction could not be completed, my card was fine and had not been declined. I contacted the hotel by phone and told them this, they just said rudely that the problem was mine, and to change my card details at *********** or the booking would be cancelled. I did as asked, switching to Mastercard in the hope that the security issues would not be the same. All OK, till the following day when I was again informed that the card had been 'declined'. I contacted *********** as I was pretty cross by now, how can a hotel advertise on an on-line site if it can't process cards in the required way? The only suggestion was to try another card, but I don't have anything that's not MC or Visa, so I saw little point. The hotel then informed me my booking was cancelled. Now, I can't believe that this hotel is unable to process cards correctly, so what could the problem be? As I know my cards had ample credit, I'm left with 2 options, either they didn't like the implied ethnicity of my name, or they didn't like the price I got from *********** so didn't want to accept the booking. Either way, you can waste a great deal of time trying to book this hotel - and so I'd recommend against it. BTW, I travel frequently and have NEVER had a problem like this elsewhere.

It is a very simple and ordinary small hotel with small rooms and small beds and toilets, but it is very clean and the transportation is convenient. The price is very good in Munich. The attitude of the front desk is very good, because there are rooms available, the front desk let us check in early. Perfect for us in many ways! Great location right on the shopping streets, we were in the middle of action when we stepped out to the pedestrian zone. No need to commute to city center from far away. Boho chic- style design. Loved the use of different colors in different spaces and floors to create a special ambience across the small but cosy hotel. Rooms were small but comfy, and totally quiet. Not a single sound from eithet outside or from next door, which I really appreciated. There was a church right behind the hotel, but window closed you couln't hear the bells at all. Great A/C. Such peaceful and quiet nights spent in our lovely room sleeping like a baby. Great, thick curtains blocked out all the light, so it was dark, too. Perfect for a bad sleeper. Bathroom was neat and tidy and spacious enough for our needs. Everything was clean and spotless everywhere in the hotel- well done cleaning team! Breakfast was 19e. (not included in our price) and worth it! So fresh and delicious. Croissants, bread rolls, jam, cheese, fresh fruits, great quality tea in a cute pot, pancakes...service was good and the room beautiful. Good start for our busy days in town. Nice young staff at the reception very service-minded and friendly. Taxi drivers pick you up from the reception since they cannot drive there due to location on a pedestrian zone. Only negative things worth mentioning: -no tea making facilities in the rooms -pillows and duvets made of synthetic materials instead of feather and down -very poor water pressure in the shower (5th floor)

On our round trip through Germany we booked in advance two rooms in this hotel. Considering the fact it was the most expensive one on our trip I like to summarize the following: + The bed was really good. We slept very well - It was very loud from the road (party on the other side of the street, fire fighters main station on the road) not their fault - The rooms do not look like how it is presented on the provided pictures. In one room very old bath room. In the room itself a good wooden floor. + In our room the bath was new. The floor in the sleeping room with an old carped covered. - The room service was bad: we had to ask for toilet paper. The shower gel was empty and not refilled. The staff was able to understand English, German or French. No reaction on a good morning etc. - The initial breakfast we took in the hotel. For the second and the third we left the hotel (even we already paid for it). I do not expect a huge and overfilled buffet, because I do not like food-waste. But for 15 euro I expect the availability of fresh bread, a good coffee and some soft-cheese and fruits. The bread was hard, one little soft cheese. I refilled the empty water carafe. The coffee machine in use was for home use. After I finished my breakfast we got a Cappuccino from the really friendly staff. She was forced to deal with bad technology. Sorry, that's the fact. For breakfast chose Trachtenvogl or Madam Anna Ekke (both pretty close) and you pay less for much more quality!
