One of the best place at Muscat, good ambience with different types of shops and huge antique items collections in walking distance.

I was kicked out and still asked to pay. It was blatant robbery!

It is a mid range place with large rooms, friendly staff and a bar. It is a short taxi ride to the souk and corniche, but walkable in about 30 minutes. The rooms had all the stuff you would expect. The bar had reasonably priced cask wines if you didn't want a bottle and a choice of beers. There are a few local eating places nearby.

In terms of price, comfort and location, this is the best option in Muscat. All the main attractions, the embankment, restaurants, supermarkets, a colorful traditional market, and a bus station to the airport are within walking distance. Large and comfortable rooms, fast internet, sufficient breakfast. As for drawbacks... This cannot be called a drawback, but there is a mosque nearby and the first morning prayer is at about 5 am. These prayers did not bother us; we slept peacefully with open windows. But if this is an inconvenience for you, then ask for a room on the street side, and not in the courtyard.

Great location, rooms are big, it was not so clean but it was manageable. Receptionist staffs and housekeeping people are all "strongly suggested" to go for the training to become "well mannered and extremely polite" with all the guest. One "exceptional" from all the receptionist is the Omani guy whose name is "Sudiqqe" he was so helpful, always smiling and very polite, accommodating and well mannered from all. The Manager namely "Mr. Bernard" who was so helpful, very professional and well mannered, is the one who made us feel comfortable and was trying to make us happy from the last few days of our stay in the hotel. He was the one who help us also to recovered my bottle of perfume and the pack of facemask which was "intentionally stolen" in our room from one of the housekeeping. Overall, if your are looking for a budget friendly hotel, Mutrah hotel can be recommended.

Initially my booking was cancelled by *********** without any reason. I was in trouble as I was due to fly to Muscat and could not rebook. Anyway...Barnerd helped me rebooking and made sure my stay at Mutrah Hotel be safe and secure. I must say he helpful Barnerd was, he was in charge of housekeeping, looked after my needs at the hotel and great housekeeping. ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND BARNERD***

As I was tested positive before my flight back to Paris, I had no choice but to stay longer in quarantine in the hotel. Thanks to the team and especially Bernard who did his best to make my stay as pleasant as possible and to make me feel like home, I will keep good memories of the extra time spent there. Ask for his assistance if you need any when you are there. Karim

I got a chance to stay there on my recent 3 nights trip to Muscat, I checked in the night around 11 PM and was granted the room within 5 minutes of showing my booking voucher, they do have a bellman all the time who can transfer your luggage and keep in the room , so it was a great thing , the stay was good with very spacious rooms and cleaning was also done on time, room looks a bit old with old AC and other equipments but they work properly. The hotel has 1 in- house restaurant and 2 bars , I got a chance to try all of them and all of them turned out to be really nice and very reasonable , if you are looking for Indian food in Muscat you should definitely try the same. Would recommend to anyone on a mid size budget. Plus point is the hotel is situated at 10-15 minutes walk from Mutrah fort and Conriche area.

The Mutrah Hotel is nice located: 15 min walk to the corniche. The rooms are big, the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately the mosque is quite close so that we woke up at 5 in the morning, but that’s how it is ;-) we did a boot trip which is as organized from the hotel, was very nice and worth the price. The parking area is in front of the hotel, what is very good. The WiFi is for free, but sometimes bad on the room.

I really don't know how this hotel could have received better reviews... let's start from the hall, as soon as we entered, we had to wait several minutes because there was no one... the room, on the first floor, reachable via stairs or a classic elevator mousetrap, it was indecent, dark, with the window facing the back, unwatchable view, sheets with holes in them from cigarette burns, with stains of dubious origin, non-existent toilet paper and requested several times and only after the third complaint did they deign to bring it, not without obvious hassle, the TV didn't work, the wifi was at a painful level... well, what can I say? I didn't expect a particularly high standard, but having visited other hotels of this category around the world, even in poor countries, I was hoping for something more dignified.

The only interest of this hotel is its location close to the Mutrah souk. The welcome is very average, the rooms are very dark as well as the restaurant. The bedding leaves something to be desired. Very average breakfast
