What an amazing hotel! We stayed for 3 nights and would return again in a heartbeat! I will say though, if you want a fancy hotel, to be in the lap of luxury (and possibly anywhere in the world), this isn't for you. However, if you want to be in the heart of Naples, in a traditional Neapolitan building, to immerse yourself in the culture, this is the place for you! The check in desk isn't manned but when we arrived, the owner was waiting for us. You enter through an unassuming gate in to a beautiful old courtyard and feel like you've almost stepped back in time. There are no lifts, but three flights of stairs to the hotels front door. The owner very kindly carried my case up the stairs which was much appreciated! The stone steps on the stairs bore evidence of the many times they've been climbed and the woodwork was a little tatty but it was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable with plenty of space for your cases/clothes, toiletries, a hairdryer, a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Our shuttered windows opened up onto the middle of a traditional Neapolitan street and you really felt like you were in the heart of things! Other rooms opened up onto the courtyard, completely with beautiful orange trees. A simple yet tasty breakfast was served in the most beautiful, traditional dining room. The ceiling was adorned with a breathtaking fresco and the fact that there were a few cracks just served to remind you of how old it was. As you can probably tell, we absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend it wholeheartedly to every! It's location is a few minutes walk from Piazza Cavour metro station and an ideal starting point from which to explore the city. We can't wait to return!!
