Located, as the name would imply, within close proximity to Napoli Centrale train station, La Stazione seemed the perfect place for an overnight stop. The first challenge was actually finding it (you’ll note I said close proximity, not ‘eyeshot’) as the entrance is well hidden, through a small unmarked door that’s part of a larger door. This leads to a small courtyard with staircase and elevator that takes you up to the hotel. Once in there, after an introduction from the friendly young man at the desk I took in my room which was clean, presentable and unusually spacious for an Italian city centre. The furniture could be described as ‘old fashioned’ if you care about that sort of thing, but my main concern was that the bed was comfortable, which didn’t disappoint. Bathroom likewise clean, everything working order and a good shower. Realistically besides finding it my only real complaint is that it is pretty noisy, but given location I was expecting this, and it wasn’t enough to keep me awake. It’s basic but perfectly serviceable, and while I’m not giving it a raving recommendation, and if I was staying for any length of time I’d probably look elsewhere, but for an overnight stay I’d definitely go back
