We stayed here on our way home from the South Island. The owner - Cobber was a lovely man and supplied us with a heater after we told him the heating in our unit wasnt working. The fan heater was not great but we werent too worried as we werent there long. The worst part of our stay was that the motel is in a suburban street and right across the road were 2 dogs behind a high gate. The dogs barked constantly at every single thing that moved or walked past their property. They were large and loud and acted like guard dogs, and it really was extremely annoying. This older motel is very typical of the dated tired motels that could really do with a modern makeover. Price was $170/night.

We have stayed several times at Asure Fountain Resort Motel, so always head there when in Nelson. The owner Cobber is very helpful & has the place spotless. Lovely rooms, good layout, close to beach & not far from downtown, plus Riccarton shops. Plenty of activities in close proximity, for everyone. Would thoroughly recommend.

The owner and staff are terrific. We had a two bedroom unit and it was more than expected comfortable. The host, Cobber, went out of his way to cover our first-timer plug adapter needs and the staff, including (pronounced) Timmy were great at explaining public transit and fielding what must have seemed like a lot of questions. We are heading back again at the end of our NZ visit!

Motel is basic, clean. Pool area is nice. Beds were comfortable enough. Checkin was easy, lady was nice. We were able to do laundry and use the BBQ. Fridge was small for a two-bedroom unit. It was quiet even though the motel appeared to be full. A bit pricey for what you get.
