Catahoula Hotel New Orleans

The location was great due to the proximity to downtown and the French Quarter. Everything is within walking distance, and the shower was very nice. Tyrell assisted me with checking in and gave me all the information I needed. The rest of the staff was friendly and welcoming. I would stay here again if I should take another trip to New Orleans.

This was a beautiful space. Nice and chill vibe. The place had board games and a bar with very unique cuisine. I had never tried anything like it before but it was wonderful. I was only slightly disappointed by the rooftop bar being closed on the first night. And actually, because of the signage, I just assumed it was closed indefinitely. I didn't realize until the night before we were supposed to check out that it had been reopened.

An absolute joke. Don't book here if you're not looking to frantically rebook your vacation 2 months before your arrival. Any company that has an average price of $100-200 on a given day that uses concerts, events, etc, as an opportunity to 5x their price to $900- $1000 a night is A SCAM & AN UNETHICAL BUSINESS. This business has also been reported to the attorney general's office of Louisiana & I hope they are properly dealt with.

This is my first Trip Advisor review ever, and I have travelled extensively. I just never leave reviews....so take that into consideration when reading this.... Selena Catahoula New Orelans/Selena Hospitality Group WILL NOT RESPOND AND WILL NOT ISSUE THE REFUNDS WE DESERVE. DO NOT BOOK!!!! Me and my friends booked three rooms at this hotel almost a year ago for the Taylor Swift concert (Booked Oct 25, 2023). We had a great rate and were happy with the proximity to the super dome. When we originally booked, we reserved the rooms with no issues, then a few months later in December 2023 we received an email stating that in order to confirm our reservation we would need to pay for one full nights stay in advance. This seemed a little shady but we all paid. Now a couple of weeks ago (August 28, 2024), we get an email from Selena "Reservations USA" stating that our reservation had been cancelled due to "new management". We all called the hotel and got three different answers. I was told that we would get an email the following day with a re-booking link to book our room again at the SAME rate, however we would have to pay again, before we got our refunds. We never got an email to rebook. So a few days later I call again and the staff member tells me that I will not be able to rebook at the same rate and that the new rate is triple the price I paid. She also didn't know when we would get refunds....So another week goes by and we get an email from the hotel saying that we will get refunds at some point, then the following day we receive an email from the GM saying that it is his last day with the company. I reply to all of these emails and get no response. I have attempted to contact the Selena Hotel Corporation and the "contact us" page is down and when you call the number it sends you to a message and then disconnects. So in the end we are out a combined $1000 and had to book a new hotel that was absurdly overpriced because obviously any hotel in the New Orleans metro area is going to be priced sky high when booking two months out for the Taylor Swift concert weekend...thats why we booked a year out to avoid this issue! What a joke this has been.

Do not book here, it is a scam!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would. They will happily book your reservation and take your money. Then they will cancel your booking without notice and you will never see a refund come through forcing you to contact your bank or be at a loss. Horrible customer service, you are better off staying far far away from this place and taking your money elsewhere. Don’t be scammed like we were!

DO NOT book with this company! Our room was canceled due to a shady "closing" and management shift. We were offered our rooms again with a 75% increase in price! Then, we we said we just want a refund, we were told "you'll get it sometime, but we can not tell you when." We are still waiting on a refund. If someone does answer the phone, then they just give you the runaround about your money.

I had booked a year in advance for the upcoming Taylor Swift concert and paid a deposit to hold the room. I called a few days ago to confirm the reservation before booking my flight. Only to receive an email today that because of a change in management the hotel is canceling ALL RESERVATIONS. And they will NOT be refunding deposits at this time. I've tried calling but I cannot get through, it plays a message and disconnects the line. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
