Nestled amidst the misty clouds of Guling on Lushan Mountain, HUAZHU·Mingyun Villa revives the poetry and depth of mountain living through the textured fabric of a historic villa. Once echoing with the footsteps of history, it now gently whispers its past through restored original wooden joinery, stained-glass windows, and weathered brickwork, while thoughtful modern comforts ensure a serene and cozy retreat.
Step to the window and enter the timeless verse, “In the mortal world, spring blooms fade away by April’s end; / Up in the mountain temple, peach blossoms are just in full swing.” Here, each season paints its own masterpiece: spring breathes the scent of blooming azaleas, summer offers the cool whisper of pine forests, autumn dazzles with maple-clad slopes, and winter sparkles with frost-kissed branches. Sip tea in a quiet corner of the courtyard or watch clouds drift by from the terrace—each scene a living brushstroke from a classical Chinese landscape.
We believe true rest is the return of body and soul. Thus, we prepare fragrant Lushan Yunwu tea in our tea nook, fill our study with local poetry and lore, and can arrange a guided walk through Guling’s historic villa district, tracing the steps of famed scholars and savoring the quiet mystery of “somewhere deep in these very mountains, where clouds veil the unseen path.”
Wake to the melody of mountain birds and a gentle stroll by Rugin Lake; unwind at dusk with a book on the veranda, bathed in fading light. More than a stop along the journey, this is a mountain home where time softens and the heart finds its calm.
HUAZHU·Mingyun Villa—with a mountain, a villa, and a window, we invite you into the story of Lushan. Between the rising and settling clouds, may you rediscover the stillness and depth that life was always meant to hold.
"The room was new and clean, with no formaldehyde smell. The receptionist was beautiful, sweet-talking, and provided excellent service. Since rooms were in high demand, we booked two nights in two different room types, and she readily upgraded our room for two nights free of charge. The roads were slippery due to the snow, and the hotel thoughtfully provided crampons and walking sticks. The hotel's location is superb, with Wat Nornatha behind it and the ski resort in front. Aside from the slightly inconvenient dining options, everything else was perfect."
