Lotus Sutra

Hi All, I am an avid traveller who covered 8 destinations for workations and leisure in last 7 months. I was in Goa for last 2 weeks. Stayed in amazing 3 and 4 star hotels in North and South Goa but then I did a mistake by looking at their photos and booking Lotus Sutra, Aarambol. This is the worst ever property, me and my wife came across in our travelling journey ever. Even BnB's or shack stays would have been better that Lotus Sutra. Except the view, everything they had is utter useless and baseless and I will share reasons with my post. I paid an amount to them for 2 N which was not even worth out stay which included breakfast and a sea view cottage. As we entered, we noticed that the staff and the reception people are not very welcoming, they literally have no interest in your quick seamless check-in. They are their just to do their job and not for great customer experience. Hopeless breakfast for vegetarians and worst menu ever. We ordered 3 things in veg and all were pathetic in taste. We asked for a match stick from the reception at night to light a candle in our room but nobody came and responded until 1 hour. We called again and we were told sorry sir we do not keep match sticks. Any 1 star hotel also would give or arrange a lighter or match stick from kitchen or keep it for their guests in a destination like Goa but this is not a cottage or a hotel but worst experience for anyone staying. We asked to extend our stay by like 30 mins or 1 hour as our flight was in the evening but we were clearly told no, not possible. The staff literally don't have any courtsey, no ability to handle crowd or arrange any function or event for in house guests. This is not how a chain or a branded hotel is run . Maybe for few years yes but not down the line because this industry works on customer experience and word of mouth and trust me this was the worst deal and mistake I ever did in Goa by booking Lotus Sutra.

Bloom Hotel - Calangute

Very nice Hotel in Calangute. Rooms are small but clean and Modern. The white and Yellow theme goes very well. Basic amenities pocket tea/coffee, soaps, and kettles are provided. Breakfast is very good and unlimited has options in both veg and nonveg. There is also a live counter where we can order egg dishes, sausages etc. The swimming pool and pool area are good and well clean. There is a multi-purpose room where indoor games and library books are placed. The hotel staff is friendly and polite particularly Azhar from the restaurant section who served our request was very polite and helpful. He was full of energy, and enthusiasm from Goa to serve all customers. I will highly recommend this hotel if staying near Calangute beach. The hotel is just behind MacD. The distance between the beach and the Hotel is approx 1km.

The hotel is euphemous and not bad. At the pool, one of the staff of the hotel (the cleaner) brought a forgotten t-shirt in the room, putting it down and stole all the money that was with him - be careful!

What to say about this little property! Stayed there with my friend for 2 nights and absolutely enjoyed everything. Though I have stayed in bigger properties in Goa but these guys are absolutely courteous and welcoming. They have all the basic amenities right from smooth check in to hot water, buffet breakfast and every room has a small balcony to relax in the evenings. Rooms are quiet neat and clean with TV etc. location is also fantastic away from hustle and bustle of the town. Would love to stay here any no of times.

We rested in April 2010, the hotel was nice, with a swimming pool, the area is not large but cozy, not far from the beach, you can walk there, we rented a motorbike, it cost pennies, we went everywhere, ate in different cafes, everything was cheap! There is a fish restaurant next to the hotel, the Market is not far away by motorbike, the beach is super, clean, warm, in the evening the sun loungers are removed from the beach and tables with chairs are placed where you can have a cheap dinner by candlelight, or drink masala tea and watch the sunset! The sunset there is sooo beautiful at this place! And there on the beach there was a girl, Kaua, about 5 years old, walking with her mother, selling corn and nuts, and the girl touchingly kissed the hands of tourists who bought something from her, this is her “trademark”. We paid an extra $100 to be given a room with air conditioning, otherwise we were accommodated with a fan that circulates hot air. The rooms are Indian, poor, the breakfast is very simple, toast with butter/honey and tea/coffee. Fruits, drinking coconuts on the street cost pennies...! TAKE ALLERGY PILLS!!! India itself is dirty, barracks, but it’s worth flying for little money!
