You can expect to find unparalleled natural beauty at the Best Western Annesley House Hotel in Norwich, which sits just a stroll away from the historic city center. The hotel is located in a tree-lined conservation area just outside Norwich’s ancient city walls, with plenty to do nearby. We recommend dedicating some time to the ‘Norwich 12’, during your stay at the Annesley House. These 12 iconic heritage buildings span across 2000 years of history, and are well worth some appreciation. Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral, the City Hall and the St James Mill are among some of the 12 gems, and all less than a 10 minute drive from the hotel. You can pick up a Norwich 12 guidebook from most tourist information points to really delve into the rich history of this beautiful city. For some scenic walks, The Norfolk Broads - Britains newest National Park – is right on your doorstep when staying at the Annesley House Hotel, and offers many breath-taking rivers and lakes to admire. If you still have some free time, the pretty coastal villages of Cley, Wells-next-the-Sea and Happisburgh (check out the little lighthouse) are only a short drive away.
The hotel itself is made up of three Grade II listed Georgian buildings, with blooming flowers and shrubbery decorating each. Our award-winning Conservatory restaurant enjoys views over the water garden, with menus changing frequently, but standards remaining exceptionally high. The Conservatory restaurant offers both a fine-dining and lighter bites menu, whilst the Lounge bar offers an array of delicious nightcaps to end your evening in comfort.
The hotel has been awarded the coveted AA Silver Star Award, given to only a select few highly recommended hotels. These hotels must offer a superior level of quality, with regards to hospitality, service and cleanliness, as well as possessing an AA Rosette award for the quality of their food.

All five of us had our own room, all situated together in the main house and one had a room with a shower which was located just outside. Breakfast choice was good and we also had our evening meal there each night. The menu for the evening meal did not change but there were 2 vegetarian options and what looked like a good selection otherwise. There were two main lounges and a small, well stocked bar. Also a garden with seating. The hotel was a short-ish walk from town and a bus stop was just opposite. A good choice for a stay in Norwich.
The 4-star Mercure Norwich Hotel is great for guests who are looking to relax, whether on a weekend escape, shopping break or a business stopover. The hotel is conveniently located just three miles from Norwich city centre, so guests can enjoy easy access to the Norfolk Broads and Great Yarmouth, as well as a host of spectacular local attractions. Norwich International Airport is less than two miles away, making this hotel the perfect first stop for those arriving in the city.

Looks a little run down outside and quite dated inside.
We spent one night in a twin room which was reasonably clean however i would suggest they upgrade the mattress protectors. Nice little complementary tray with water, tea coffee sugar and biscuits.
Staff on reception were very friendly.
We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment.
Overall stay was good.

I stayed here when I was on a business trip in Norwich. The environment is great. It's just a manor hotel. The facilities are too old. The floor is creaky. The facilities in the room are very old. The third and fourth tier hotels in China are better than this. If you are a pretentious person, forget it. The environment is still very good. The air is very fresh. The breakfast is also OK. Anyway, it's just an ordinary British meal.

Very friendly, welcoming and efficient staff. The lift was out of order but help with our luggage was offered immediately. Room was immaculate and well equipped, with air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The only inconvenience was no socket for the hairdryer near a mirror. Breakfast was well presented with a good choice of hot and cold items, but more seating would be useful. Staff were clearing tables as quickly as possible, but as it was a warm and sunny morning we ate outside. Would definitely stay here again.

Very pleased with my stay. I was in Bawburgh for a wedding at the nearby golf club so I paid for an early check-in. I was greeted warmly when I arrived; A young man checked me in, walked me over to the room, and gave me a good run-down of how everything worked, including who to get in contact with in an emergency. The room was small, but well decorated and maintained, and the bed was very comfortable. Because I booked directly with them, breakfast was included; I was able to order from the regular breakfast menu, and was given a very tasty plate of smashed avacado and poached egg. The staff were all friendly and informative. The pub itself is on the main road, easy to find, and I had a view of the riverside area from my room. An altogether pleasant experience.

On first arrival you cannot be but impressed. The furnishings and general layout are welcoming. This is the second apartment I have stayed in at No10. However there is a flip! On both occasions I have had to report the showers in both apartments. Understanding cleaners can/will only do so much neither shower was a pleasant experience. The first time, in the 'Poppy Line' apartment the shower head was so clogged it would only allow a few jets of water which was an uncomfortable experience. This stay in the Holt Country Park apartment it was again the shower head clogged with what few jets worked going in all directions but even worse the temperature control was non existent. The choice was to be scolded or to be frozen basically...so it was set to scold with me darting in and out...again not conducive to a good start to the day. I will stay again (but probably take my own shower head just in case) because it IS a nice position, has plenty of options for food and drink very close by and is situated in a quiet location. Memo to Owners...check your rooms for working amenities because its not happening.

My partners daughter booked us a 1 night stay here for his birthday, and a table for Sunday lunch.on arriving we weren't sure if we were in the correct car park as there's no signs to say it was.check in 4 the room wasn't until 2pm and our table 4 lunch was 1pm so we had a drink in the bar first.therez a large seating area outside but only a small bar area so if weather is bad there wouldn't be many seats to sit in.we both choose Sunday roast 4 lunch, the farmers roast that you get a slice of all 3 meats,I have 2 be honest i couldnt taste the difference in them.overall the roast had a strange taste,I can't really put my finger on it,there was a lot of herbs especially rosemary on my plate I prefer potatoes etc..not covered in herbs.the cauliflowercheese was mushy..the desserts were lovely.we had few drinks on the terrace later and scones and cream which was lovely the room we had overlooked the side of the hotel..i didn't sleep very well in the bed,the bed itself was good but the pillows were awfull, the room was quite stuffy but I didn't feel comfortable leaving the window open.,couldnt fully turn off the shower and the radiator in the room clearly leaks as there was a tea towel wrapped round it which looked like it had been there a while.we didn't have breakfast before leaving as my partner had work commitments. Overall this hotel has a great location overlooking the river which definately makes it popular, there are a few things that could do with fixing here to make it an excellent hotel.

We will definitely be returning to the Wayford Bridge Inn. This was our second stay there. This family-owned hotel is fantastic in our opinion. Our accommodation at the Wayford, room number 12, faces the river, though it's a short distance away. We spent three days there. Everything we needed was in our spotlessly clean and well-organised room. While we were there, we made reservations for breakfast and dinner. The meals are all wonderful and reasonably priced. The food was consistently served hot and in generous serving sizes. There is a standard menu as well as a special board to select from. The staff are exceptional, as is Karen, ”The Boss,” who maintains a tight ship. With so many attractions nearby without having to travel far, it's a fantastic spot to stay.

Excellent
Pub restaurant and private hotel in a rural location, close to a surprisingly busy main road and a short drive away from the pleasant small town of Aylsham. Stayed only one night but hope to be able to go back some time. Had a superb meal in the restaurant, waiting staff very polite and attentive. Room with a view across green fields was large, clean and newly-decorated as was the en-suite which had a powerful shower in a large cubicle. Bed was comfortable, slept fairly well although the duvet was a little too thick and the night not quite warm enough to sleep without covers! Kept the window open, therefore the noise of the passing traffic was quite evident but not objectionable. Our stay was beautifully rounded-off with a generous and very tasty full English breakfast with locally-sourced sausages and bacon.
GGuest UserNoise from street outside window until 3.30am, shortly followed by traffic noise, so we got very little sleep! Our 'Heritage' room had neither beams nor a fireplace (as described on website) and was small and awkwardly shaped, with much of the room being taken up by a freestanding bathtub so that the wardrobe was crammed against a wall on the opposite side. The room was unwelcoming to say the least. When we mentioned the street noise on checking out, we were told to ask for a quiet room next time.....there will not be a next time. We booked directly with the hotel and were not told anything about street noise. A fridge with a loud hum was placed on top of a small table next to the wardrobe. Breakfast was adequate but poached eggs were hard. Not a wonderful experience.
Evening food was lovely in the brasserie. The golf course was lovely. We played the hill course. The spa was great. Great range of treatments and people were nice. Location and general feel about Barnham broom is amazing. The smaller sized resort is much better aswell. The 2 downsides: The breakfast was horrendous. The quality of the food and the state it was cooked in was diabolical. (Full english) the hot drinks were also done with little to no care and was not good at all. The bar in the middle of the hotel between the brasserie and the sports bar would be an amazing place to have proper drinks, lovely setting and great for people to have a nice evening drink. This wasn't manned and we were just directed to the sports bar as a couple to get drinks instead...which is more 'laddy' than we wanted for our after evening drinks. Which was a shame.
GGuest UserWe were delighted with this hotel. Parking with my blue badge was easy and close to reception. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were pleased with the layout and spaciousness of our room.Decor is good, and we had very pleasant meals in the conservatory. We are light eaters and found what we wanted by using the illustrated tablets provided by the staff. We did have a problem, though. As I was pleased with the service for the evening meals I left a tip each time and it was only after I checked the bill at home that I found gratuities had been added. We were not advised of this and saw no advice of it on the tablet menus. A shame - until then we were very happy. It doesn't stop us going again but we shall leave no tips!
Lovely clean and well appointed rooms in a great location for Norwich City. Ideal for a short stop over and an ideal alternative to a hotel. The room had its own kitchen area , very comfortable bed and large bathroom with a decent shower. The key code entry is ok once you get the hang of it but could be simpler. I didn’t like the fact that a £96 security deposit had to be paid upfront but it was refunded three days after checking out. Personally I would scrap this idea as it almost put us off of booking. We didn’t see any staff so can’t comment on them however it’s nice to come and go as you please. We had Dragons Hall and Chapelfields rooms and didn’t have an issue with road noise which others have encountered. Would definitely stay here again.
We booked a night in the riverside guest house. The room cost us £70 including a parking permit. When entering the room it smelt damp and was overpowering we thought this was just a case of opening the windows, which we did and went out for the night, when we arrived back the smell was stronger. In the room we were advised that if there were any issues with our stay to email them directly to the hotel, which we did, I informed them that we had to sleep with the windows open due to there been no ventilation and an overpowering smell. To which they replied below. Baring in mind the conditions they mention towards the end was that I had mentioned that I had asthma and was pregnant and struggled to sleep in the room as it was. And according to them I should have made them aware of my ‘condition’ and they would have given us an alternative or cancelled. At ”Riverside” we have 4 buildings and 9 different types of rooms for the variety of guests with different needs and budget. When we received this booking on the 2 March 2022, I was asking myself: who are these people, making the reservation so far in advance and selecting our cheapest (our worst) room? All the better rooms were available, and at that time the prices were very low, for a few quid you could have Standard or even Superior room... General info: ...”Please make sure the type of bed(s) and size of the room(s) you booked suit your needs. Note, there are Small (Economy), Standard and Superior sizes of the rooms. If Small room is selected, please expect it to be smaller than Standard room, one side of the bed against the wall and no view from the window. When the cheapest room is selected, one should ask: ”What kind of people book these rooms and in this area? We didn't receive any information about you or your condition in the section ”Important info about the guest” or ”Special requests” and knew nothing about your sensitivity (nobody else complained about the smell) If you'd mention your condition on your booking, then we'd advise you to upgrade your room or cancel it altogether. Kind regards, Kasey, manager
Arrived at The Wensum Valley Hotel Golf and Country Club to be greeted by staff who were surly, offish and definitely not customer friendly when we checked in at the reception to our two rooms. There was no welcome, or the offer of information such as; where the restaurant was or what the dinner or breakfast times were. We were just given the room keys and not even told the way to the rooms until we asked. We then asked about eating in the restaurant that evening and we were told that we needed to ask at the bar. We asked at the bar and we were told we would have to go to the restaurant. At the restaurant, we were told that they were full with a party of 80 male golfers, but that we could squeeze in if we wanted. We went into Norwich instead and had a really nice meal at Bill’s. On our return we decided to have a nightcap in the bar. Unfortunately, the bar was extremely busy and there was loud music emanating from a nearby function room. We had one drink, which the bar wouldn’t charge to the room and we retired to our rooms. Sadly the loud music from the function followed us and the noise in the room was unbearable. We ended up asking at reception to change rooms which we did. Rooms are clean and decorated, but could perhaps have some pictures hanging to break up the wall expanses. There is no complementary water in the room and to get a 330ml bottle of still water from the bar was £3+. Again the cost of the water wouldn’t be charged to the room. The en-suite toilet and shower room is the best feature of the bedroom, albeit without a toilet roll holder. The internet signal in our rooms was abysmal. Nothing at all, then one bar max!! When one bar, hardly anything loading. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel, we definitely won’t be!!
