Cross Oak Inn

Explained one of our party had been taken ill on the morning of our booking when we arrived to be quickly and forcefully told we would loose £5 of the deposit paid because he had turned away another nine that wanted our table.There were still eight in our party. The meal was quickly to arrive and looked lovely but the beef wes so tough three of us left it and the pork was a chop really unexpected.Sadly will not be going again

Simple booking , simple check in .. lovely clean room , lots of space , everything we could want for a 1 night stay , bar was open on our return from a day out in Cardiff in the evening , breakfast was lovely , staff very accommodating, just great . !!

Very welcoming on arrival landlord was lovely, the room was ok good size for family of 5 everything we needed. Booked a table for food which was very nice very quick service really nice food and again really good service. Would definitely visit again the kids really liked the landlord as he was joking with them

A nice local pub, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and well presented and the beds were very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay and food was great, good portions, very tasty and for a reasonable price. We were made feel welcome from arrival until we left and the pub had a great atmosphere. Also thanks to Becky for being so helpful in accomadating us last minute and helping us getting a taxi sorted really appreciated it.

Had Sunday lunch here the staff the food was amazing really friendly staff the food was second to none the landlady was checking everything was OK wich it was she stopped to talk even thou she was busy give this place a go you won't find better

The room wasn't what we were expecting as it was a little small and outdated. In between the shower wasn't usable properly one second date of the ice cold next minute piping hot then back to ice cold again. The bathroom floor boards felt like they were going to give way from underneath us and there was a lingering smell from the drains that you would notice when you first walk into the room. For some strange reason we can't work out why the lights flickered a lot both lamp and ceiling. The staff were very very friendly and welcoming the bar facilities for good and we very much enjoyed our evening meals. The only reason we didn't give a five-star was the accommodation and facilities in the room (i.e. shower and toilet) we have paid less than £60 per night for better accommodation.

Lovely Saturday evening spent dining at a relatively local pub. All 3 courses went down well with the main course requiring a special mention, Honey & Bourbon Belly Pork with Tempura Vegetables, absolutely delicious.
