Reviews were great and someone told me this was the place to stay. Very disappointed. Very small rooms, no desk, so hard to work unless you sit on the bed. Food in the restaurant was ran eclectic menu for those who like that. Not a fan. It is a pretty hotel and the staff was great, but i'll stay elsewhere

I am so disappointed with this stay; I am not sure where to start. I think an appropriate place could be the “urban” view room I received, which faced a parking garage and lot which is not the facade pictured on the website. Secondly, customer service was severely lacking upon check-in as no one was at the front desk for several minutes while we patiently waited to be checked in. There were no pleasantries exchanged at this point as it was a simply transactional engagement. After check-in, no one called or texted to see if there was anything we might need as you would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Unfortunately, this theme continued for the duration of our stay as there were bright yellow stains on the shower curtain as if someone had urinated on it, black claw marks in the bathtub reminiscent of a tragic hotel stay I had in India in my adventurous years where I was convinced a badger had been a previous guest, peeling wallpaper, strange splotches on the walls that screamed to be wiped. And this was just our room. What felt most egregious is that we were not notified prior to booking our stay that the hotel pool would not be available for use. My 6-year-old son was devastated when we visited to find 1 inch of water in what was supposed to be a fun and relaxing time. Sadly there was one more offense to be had before our departure. The individual at the front desk refused to grant us a 30-minute extension to check out due to the entire hotel being sold out. I suspected this was a false claim, and sure enough when I went to the app to book a reservation for the evening, there were a plethora of rooms available. I don’t think anyone appreciates being lied to, but when this happens in what is supposed to be a hospitality industry, it feels even more insulting. I would not have paid half of the nightly rate for all of these inconveniences my family had to endure just for the location. This was easily our worst hotel stay in the last several years, and I hope management takes this feedback into consideration in ensuring quality control is maintained as I believe there is still potential given the hotel’s age and location in Classen Curve.

This is a very nicely decorated boutique hotel. Clean designs, nice touches. E.g. the barn door to the bathroom has a soft-close mechanism. Staff is nice. Only 2 minor complaints. Our room was located directly across from the entry, so we could hear every single person walk in to our floor and also hear them talking. We upgraded our room, so we were a little disappointed that an upgraded room had such a poor location. Other complaint was that the restaurant was a little unorganized. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but they felt uncoordiated. We waited at our table for more than 20 minutes just to get a menu. And our table had no silverware, something our waitress didn't even notice until after our food came and we had to ask. The cocktail menu we were given was out of date. After they gave it to us, they came back later and told us they only had 1 or 2 of the ~10 because they were going through the new season's ingredients or something like that. For brunch, we were given breakfast menus and we had to ask for brunch menus. We arrived right around the start of brunch, so maybe that's why. None of these things were a big deal, just need a little bit more coordination/preparation. The rooftop pool is small, but good enough for relaxing on a hot day with poolside food/drinks. The other half of the rooftop area is couches, which is fine/understandable, but I might have opted for a bigger pool and a smaller lounge area personally. The bartender was fantastic. One minor complaint is that the food selection is limited at the rooftop. But she said we could go down to the lobby where they have a bigger selection and they would bring it to us. This is something they should figure out though - I don't see why they can't provide a full menu of available things to order and order it for you. Location is great. You can walk from your room to Whole Foods in a little more than 5 minutes without crossing any major street.

I have stayed at "high end" hotels throughout the US and Europe. The Ellison is THE BEST! I own several investment properties in 3 historic neighborhoods in OKC and often could stay in one of my own houses but I MUCH prefer the Ellison for the service!
