In the city center, the location is good, the bus station is only a 5-minute walk away, and there are restaurants, supermarkets, and banks downstairs and next to it. But the room is very simple and small, the sound insulation is very poor, the smell of disinfectant is very strong, and it is very noisy downstairs at 1 or 2 in the morning.

I’m curious as to why the most expensive hotel in the UK is not in London’s King’s Cross, but in Oxford. It costs more than 900 per night and does not include breakfast, which is a poor value for money. The socket location is not good either. There are no other problems and everything is within the acceptable range.

There is no elevator, you need to carry your own luggage. Room sound insulation is poor. The bathroom drain was clogged, unable to take a shower.

Awful place to stay in, went there for one night only and I regretted it completely. The staff member Jay was extremely rude, aggressive and controlling. I do not recommend coming here due to the poor living standards and abysmal customer service.

It was very centrally located, and was a close walk to many important sites in Oxford. There was no elevator, so we had to take the luggages up one floor. We were on the first floor, but there were other rooms up more stairs. The front reception was very helpful. The room itself was very small. There were two beds, and not much space to take out the luggage. We pushed the two beds together for a bit more space. There were lots of amenities, such as a kettle, and coffee and tea. The bathroom was small and the basin was small but it was clean. At night it was not hot but noisy. It was great when we checked out, as they let us keep the four luggages in the small reception as we were going out. Very helpful!

Very poor hotel, and it is a club next to it. No sleep at all. Not recommended. When I called the receptionist over night, because I can't sleep, the answer was ' You knew you booked a hotel in the city', it was a Tuesday, I wouldn't think it will be a party. They haven't offered a room move.

A basic hotel, but clean. Comfortable beds. Double sealed windows which can be opened if required. Strong rain shower, but too large for the space. Very helpful staff at reception. Very good location and would be happy to stay again.

The location of this hotel is its main plus. It is centrally located , close to a lot of the places you like to see. You can walk just about everywhere. The staff were very helpful. The room we had was small. The bathroom was really small too. The room was clean.

Room was tiny. No Air Conditioning. Was very hot. No power at headboard of bed. Needed power for CPAP machine. Left hotel and found another place. Pictures do not look anything like the room we were going to stay in.

The room was nice, clean and tidy. Bed was comfy. No aircon, so the room got hot, even though there was a fan. We opened the window, and because we were at the front of the hotel it was noisy outside. Till about 3.30 in the morning. And this was a Thursday night. So we had a night of broken sleep. After being in the dirty Athena hotel, that we decided not to stay at. We were lucky to find this at a bargain price of £69. Would rate it 4 if it wasn't for the noise outside. There was no breakfast so we had breakfast just down the road at the weatherspoons pub.

We found, upon arriving at the hotel, that we had made a double booking by mistake. When we spoke to the manager about this in the spirit of seeking an amicable and mutually beneficial solution to our inadvertent mistake, Mr. Jay Sicyp lost his temper before we could finish what we had to say, threatening to "throw (us) out" while thumping his clenched fist on the desk. Such aggressive behavior is unworthy of a hotel in Oxford, indeed anywhere in the world. We are in our sixties and this was by far our worst, and our only dehumanizing, experience with any hotel staff, in the UK or elsewhere. If the top management of this hotel were to read this review, they should warn Mr. Jay Sicyp against repeating this kind of behavior and should do something to change the business culture as reflected in such behavior. Given the exceptionally large number of negative reviews, such reform seems long overdue.
