Was für eine schöne Lodge mit vielen Tieren. Die Locals (=Elefanten) sind immer willkommen und haben natürlich Vortritt. Es ist toll zu sehen, wie diese Lodge und ihre engagierten Mitarbeiter es hinbekommen mit den Tieren ein tolles Erlebnis für ihre Gäste zu ermöglichen. Die Anlage ist super schön und das Essen sehr lecker. Es gibt 2 schöne Pools, davon einer mit Bar und ein Wasserloch mit Aussichtsterasse.

Wir sind aus Opuwo kommend für zwei Nächte in dieser schönen Oase eingekehrt. Die Lage ist herrlich, es werden schöne Aktivitäten angeboten - wir haben die Morgenwanderung mitgemacht und sind nachmittags mit dem eigenen Auto in der Concession unterwegs gewesen (nur mit 4x4 zu empfehlen). Beides ist in dieser herrlichen Natur einfach wunderbar. Das Personal der Lodge ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Und Elefanten kommen auch in die Lodge: neben dem Einzelgänger Jimbo war morgens eine kleine Herde bestehend aus 5 großen und einem kleinen Elefanten zu Besuch. Wir haben in einem der fest installierten Zelte geschlafen - das ist schon sehr luxuriös. Nachts hört man dann, wie Schakale den Mond anheulen und vermutlich Elefanten ums Zelt gestapft sind… Uns hat es hier sehr gut gefallen!

Les animaux sont la seule raison de venir Le positif : Lodge au top pour voir les éléphants du désert qui se prélassent dans le lit de rivière attenant et parfois dans le lodge !! Lodge également top pour aller voir avec eux les rhinos noirs. Les plats au déjeuner sont très bons. Grandes chambres propres. Le moins positif : Le personnel est moins accueillant et moins serviable qu’à l’accoutumé. Le lit trop petit c’était un 1m90 de long !!!! Très et trop grand lodge pas intimiste. Très agréable de voir de la verdure mais dérangeant de voir toute cette eau arroser les pelouses. Désolé mais le dîner buffet était mauvais, sauf la soupe ! Le petit déjeuner n’était pas incroyable non plus.

De Self-Drive is onverantwoord. Er is niks te zien. Enkel stenen. Amper een springbok. Nochtans probeert men deze wel sterk aan te raden. Gidsen vertelden ons dat zij al meermaals gevraagd hebben deze Drive te sluiten. Maar inkomst"n zijn belangrijker. Doe het niet!

auf diesem Campingplatz kann man fast das Gefühl haben, dass man sich nicht in Namibia befindet, so grün ist es hier. Wie in Namibia üblich hat man sein eigenes Sanitärgebäude, heißt man hat sein eigenes WC und seine eigene Dusche. Es gibt einen Pool, eine Bar die auch kleine Speisen anbietet. Wer nicht selbst kochen will, kann auch im Restaurant der Lodge essen gehen, haben wir aber nicht ausprobiert

We enjoyed our stay at Palmwag. The accommodation is beautiful, set in a little oasis in the middle of the dry and rocky landscape of Damaraland. The main dining area where dinner and breakfast are served is very spacious and offers fantastic views of the oasis and waterhole, including some animals who come there for a drink. Dinner is buffet style, and there was a variety of options to choose from. There's also a second dining area for lunch and snacks, and everything is "open air", but still providing lots of shade and great views. We did an evening game drive with Nero (very entertaining and educating, and saw lots of animals) on our first day. The second day we did the Rhino tracking in the morning, which was a bit expensive, but in my opinion worth the money. They also need to pay the local rhino rangers which are responsible for protecting the rhino from poachers, so I would say the money is well spent. And we saw three black rhinos in the wild, which was a great experience. The rangers make sure that the animals are not disturbed or bothered, and it is all done very professionally. The same day we also joined the guided walk in the evening, which was very pleasant and offers great view of the oasis, and you learn interesting things about local plants and birds.

Der erste Eindruck ist toll, allerdings fragt man sich, weshalb in einer solch wasserarmen Region grüner Rasen bewässert werden muss ( wenn auch mit grey water). Der afternoon walk mit Rodry war unterhaltsam und informativ. Die Game drives aber relativ teuer. Deshalb wollten wir auf eigene Faust los: Man empfahl uns einen Loop und verkaufte das permit dafür. Allerdings war die Strecke mit unserem Mietwagen eigentlich nicht befahrbar und wir endeten in einer Sackgasse. Leider haben wir auch kein einziges Tier gesichtet. Zur Sauberkeit: auch hier war der erste Eindruck gut, aber z. B. die Salz-/Pfefferstreuer waren ziemlich klebrig und der Anschluss der Toilette im Bungalow (Abwasser) war offensichtlich schon länger nicht richtig dicht.

Magnifique campsite avec sdb privée. Reserve verdoyante, piscine fréquentée par des éléphants. Restaurant avec buffet situé sur une terrasse avec une jolie vue. Ce camp est tres agréable et tres bien tenu. Morning walk extraordinaire.
