The hotel is not far from Notre Dame, and it is convenient to walk straight along the Monge Road in front of the door for about 10 minutes to the Seine River.

There are a few things to say about this place first: First, the location is absolutely superior. The Latin Quarter is beautiful. It is an old-fashioned Paris neighborhood. You can walk to the city and various places. This alone makes it worth staying here, regardless of the hotel. How about it. Second, there are different areas in the hotel, basically two separate 4-story buildings with a courtyard in the middle. I feel like there are good and bad buildings in these two buildings. Anyway, we live in a good building. Third, the hotel is closed during the day, which would be troublesome if it's winter or if you're sick, but after all, it's not a problem for us. We booked a double room for 5 nights, bringing our own bedding. Room: very very small, with sink. Very Parisian. There was a very small floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the courtyard, and I wouldn't have realized how small the room was if it weren't for the fact that our luggage almost couldn't fit inside. The security issue can only be said to be basic. The staff will come to ”clean” it every day, whether you like it or not (I suspect that the so-called ”cleaning” may just ventilate the room, because this old building may get damp or something?) . Not sure, but you might lose some small items (change, etc.) at this time, so be sure to take your belongings with you or lock them up, because people will come in even when the door is closed. Bed: Very basic, but quite comfortable. We brought our own bedding, but after a few nights we paid for a set (not much money), which was fine, but I was worried about the cleanliness. Bathroom: Average, I don't want to say more. Very basic (I already have very low standards, my bathroom at home is outside). I wouldn't dare use the bathroom here in winter, the shower water is not hot (it's always ice cold) and the small floor-to-ceiling window doesn't seem to close properly. The shower didn't work when we stayed (but we had spare water and it was adequate). The toilet and bathroom are on different floors and the toilet is very basic. You need to bring your own toilet paper, because they often run out of it, and bring your own hand sanitizer. If the quality of this hotel is lowered, the cleanliness and safety quality of the bathroom will really be a fatal problem. In other respects it's pretty good. Waiter: Excellent. They all speak English (and other languages ​​as well), are calm, civilized, competent, and friendly, and always sit down and chat with guests, who seem to be mostly local college students. They are definitely the highlight of the hotel, few of them are wild kids that party hard, they all tend to talk about literature and politics, which is really good. In addition, they are also very helpful in booking taxis and buses for you. Facilities: The pay phone was broken. Wireless internet is expensive (if your French is good enough to log in, find a park with wireless internet). There are small kitchen facilities where you can cook your own meals. Most things you need (groceries, laundry, etc.) are available nearby. Very close to the city and public transportation system. Storing valuables at the front desk will keep them safe (not sure 100%, but much better than leaving them in the house). Others: The breakfast was quite good, with cereals and baked goods, toast, juice, coffee, and tea. Being closed during the day was not an inconvenience (I thought it would be), but one day we got soaked and wanted to go inside to change, but no one let us in. I would like to reiterate that I am very impressed with this place, even with all the shortcomings. I should also point out that I didn't see or have anything to do with the hostel, and even if it had, I wouldn't have booked it (it's certainly not clean, safe, or stylish). It's a safe place with a lovely atmosphere if you're feeling adventurous, but if you're more interested in cleanliness and stability than character, look elsewhere.

Albergo senza pretese in zona Bastiglia, vicino alla metro. Ascensore minuscolo, stanze piccole ma pulite, saponi non forniti. Le camere sul retro sono tranquille, purtroppo le camere sul fronte strada sono rumorose a causa di schiamazzi notturni ( ci sono locali ) ed è difficile riposare. Gli infissi non trattengono i rumori, basterebbe sostituirli per modificare notevolmente il comfort. A pochi metri un forno/pasticceria fantastico, dove è possibile fare colazione e oppure uno spuntino, anche salato. Ci tornerei se fossi sicuro di soggiornare in una camera sul retro del palazzo.

My husband and I stayed in a Superior Double Room for two days at the beginning of March. We had a wonderful view of the park and the Eiffel Tower. The room is beautiful to look at, but a little damaged in some parts (for example the shower). The biggest problem of the room was the ventilation system, as it smelled of the drain several times. The cleaner does her job, as she cleans the room daily, but the problem is exclusively ventilation. I might also point out that you can hear the chairs being moved in the bar in the room. I would also suggest that a different choice of breakfast be made every day, as it was the same breakfast twice. However, I would like to conclude by praising the staff, who were friendly at all times.

Yes, rooms are very small by US standards, smaller than the smallest room I saw at the College Park (Atlanta Airport) Econo Lodge. However, they are twice as big as what they call “single rooms” in London’s budget hotels, which are half way between the traditional English phone booth and a small US closet, where you sleep in a tiny 90 centimeters army cot WITHOUT AC for the price you pay at the Los Angeles LAX Sheraton! At this CHOICE COMFORT HOTEL PORTE D’IVRY at least, you will sleep in a double bed in a small but clean room WITH AC, tiny desk and phone, and a full bath with the biggest shower (3 times bigger) that I’ve ever seen in Europe, together with the one of room 823 at the Orly Best Western Plus, which is the same size. It also has a sink with a hair dryer and a private “wishing well”, the greatest invention of mankind… Those amenities such as a big refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board that I always see in all CHOICE HOTELS (whether Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, etc.) in the US for around $100 with buffet breakfast included, are just a dream in Europe, so forget about it! I’ll say the same about the ice machine, which we find even in cheapest motels, and sometimes on every floor in high-end hotels like the Clarion. Forget it! The only place where I have seen an ice machine outside of the US was at the Gran Hotel Argentino in Buenos Aires, after I harassed the manager during more than seven years asking for it during every trip in the 1990s! THE MAIN ASSET of this Comfort Hotel Porte d’Ivry is its LOCATION. A short 4 blocks walk will put you at “Porte d’Ivry”, where you will see the terminal of bus 27 to go to “Quartier Latin”, “Notre-Dame”, “Opéra” and “Gare Saint-Lazare”, and also the terminal of bus 83, which will take you to “Port Royal” and “Sèvres-Babylone”. At the same “Porte d’Ivry”, you will also see the “Métro” (subway) line 7 going from “La Courneuve” in the north of Paris to “Mairie d’Ivry” in the south. If you enjoy traveling underground, this line will take you straight to “Chatelet” and “Opéra”. But I prefer to do that journey with bus 27. I have been towards many times in my younger days and I always found a little room in the centre of the city at a good price. This time I was going with the family. An entirely different proposition. My partner found this place. She is very good at finding something suitable. I was a little concerned at the distance from the centre of the city. We flew to Orly and got a taxi the hotel. The coach would have been €44 for the four of us. A taxi was €36 ! The hotel is basic. Flash it is not. However, clean, warm, nice bed, good shower, quiet close to the bus route into the city are all accurate comments. This leads me onto the buses and Metro etc. We got 2 days of travel on everything (zones 1 - 3) for the four of us for less than £25 each. Great value. There is an app that can help you get around if you are not c9mfy with maps etc. Hotel does breakfast but we did not partake so I cannot comment but the location was not too far out to allow for a good evening in the city and an easy and quick trip back to a warm comfy bed with a good sleep to look forward to. Views from the hotel leave a lot to be desired. On the plus side you can see where the hotel is because it is next to the big steam emitting chimneys beside the wonky office block ! 🤣

The room was very neat and well kept. The lighting looked very pretty and it was very good room for a budget hotel. I was completely satisfied with the experience. The room was also cleaned every day which was very good. It also had air conditioning that was excellent as Paris was very hot during my stay. It was located next to a shopping centre(Bercy 2) this was very convenient for me as I was able to get all that was needed inside there. The staff were okay. They were a bit passive aggressive but they did help. I didn’t hear of this 50 euros deposit which I was afraid of when booking this hotel. Instead I paid 4.02 euros as city tax which is understandable as I am staying in Paris. There was also a wonderful pizza shop which was shared with a bakery down the road from the hotel which had amazing pizza and great customer service. Even though the man couldn’t speak any English he was very pleasant. In terms of location, this hotel has a very good public transportation connections with bus stops within walking distance of the hotel which take you to the metro and the metro can take you across Paris. French public transportation was very easy to use and inexpensive. Even though, I felt some passive aggression in my time in France(which I believe is how french people are), I was completely satisfied with my experience and would recommend to people on a budget looking for hotels in Paris with good transportation connections.

Kleines Touristenhotel mit rund 25 Zimmern. Das Hotel liegt in 2 Min. Fussweg zur U-Bahnstation Pernety, was sehr praktisch ist. Die Zimmer im Hotel sind jedoch sehr klein. In unserem Zimmer hatte es kaum eine Ablagefläche, geschweige denn einen richtigen Schrank. Rund um das Bett 30 - 80 cm, das wars… Die Dusche war ok; für die Duschkabine darf man aber keine Platzangst haben. Eine enge Treppe führt in die Obergeschosse; der Lift ist ebenfalls klein. Der grösste Mangel im Hotel ist aber der Frühstücksraum. Für eine solche Anzahl Hotelzimmer nur 22 Sitzplätze -＞ das genügt einfach nicht. Es kann nicht sein, dass man morgens um 8.30 Uhr zum Frühstück will und dann fast eine Stunde in der Hotel-Lobby warten muss. Das Frühstück selber ist relativ spartanisch. Das Hotelpersonal dürfte auch freundlicher und kompetenter sein, angefangen bei Receptionspersonal bis hin zur Bedienung im Frühstücksraum. Alles in allem kann man dort bei einem Städtetrip übernachten - bedingungslos empfehlenswert, na ja….

The hotel is in a really nice position very close to the metro station of Jaurès that can get you basically everywhere. The place was clean and there is the chance to leave there your luggage if you come to early for check in or if you need to leave it after check out. That earns the 2 stars in my review. Unfortunately this was probably my worst experience in a hotel. Checking in I was told that we got an upgrade and, instead of our view on the city we got what is supposedly a better room facing an internal wall. I must say that I am not sure if that was really an upgrade because it didn't feel like it - and this makes me wonder what would have been a regular room. Rooms are poorly insulated and I could hear perfectly what was going on in the rooms next to our. The cleaning was good, but unfortunately the cleaning lady forgot to close our door and, when we came back to the hotel in the late afternoon, we found the door open. The only answer we got when we reported the issue was ”oh, that's not good” - indeed it isn't. Growing up in a similar business I have been taught to do what it take to make happy your guests and I found odd that I couldn't get a couple of spoons when I asked for them (”breakfast is closed now so we don't have spoons”). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The price doesn't match the service.
