Hotels Near Church of Jesus the Good Shepherd in Pescara

I was worried when I read the reviews regarding this hotel, However I think some people expect too much. Yes the Hotel does need some much needed maintenance but I believe in light of the recent pandemic it has like most of the world become a victim of circumstance. That being said and looking beyond the surface - this hotel has very welcoming polite staff, it was super clean and the room was spacious and the bed was comfy. it is ideally situated on the front with excellent access to bars, restaurants and shops. I would definately stay here again if I ever returned to Pescara. Thank you for our stay.

B&b is located near the central Umberto road. It is difficult to find free parking in the area but a few steps away is the parking for payment of the station. And here the positive notes end. I'm sorry to always make negative reviews, but I hope that this can be a stimulus for managers. But inside it looks like a basar, poorly-tracked entry with furniture put to the mouth. Small room, date furniture and different from each other. Recently renovated but small bathroom. Phon in poorly-tracked furniture. The morning was hot water, and it was impossible to do a shower; the evening was a thread after a half-direct water was left flowing. Breakfast in line with the rest, non-branded products even with a variety of products (sweet only, not salted).

The shutter in the bedroom is broken so it is not possible to make it dark. No breakfast included while the hotel I took in the same city and at the same price the week before was better located and more comfortable at all levels offered one.

Ho trovato per caso questo B&B cercando su Google, incuriosita dalle ottime recensioni e dalle camere ho contattato Tony. Ho trovato subito, durante la chiamata, una persona deliziosa, gentilissima e cortese che ci ha ospitato nella sua struttura. Per noi è stato l’appoggio per una sola notte (come tappa di rientro dalla vacanze) ma se fossi stata prima a conoscenza del posto non avrei avuto dubbi sul risceglierlo. Tony ci ha aspettati e accolti nonostante fosse ora di cena, e anche durante il tragitto per Pescara è stato molto carino nel chiederci come stesse andando il viaggio. Camera super pulita, arredata in maniera impeccabile, con tutti i confort del caso (per dire, in camera c’era una ciotolina con delle caramelle). Lo spazio colazione ricco di tantissimi cibi dolci e salati (insieme a macchinetta del caffè e a utensili vari) è sempre accessibile durante il giorno. Tony ci ha anche fornito indicazioni su dove andare a cena, dove parcheggiare ecc… insomma un’host impeccabile. È stato davvero un piacere soggiornare qui! Grazie!

Friendly reception, good beds, good shower. Extensive breakfast. The lichtstraten in the room could be better; only bedlights. Parking is a little challenge. Good for a couple of nights. Public transport nearby. We got a double room for a bargain. Good service from the hotel.

We booked this hotel for 9 nights, from August 18, 2023 to August 27, 2023. In the first night an extremely noisy event (which we understood from the Reception when we complained is a DAILY event between 20:00-24:00) from the nearby hotel. No one from the hotel warned us about this. Also, this was not mentioned in the description of the hotel on the website. When we talked about this at the reception, they did not offer any solution. They knew about this problem. They said that they will try to give us another room in a few days, but an worse room that the one we paid for. We checked out the next day. The other negative aspects which are misleading in the description are: Wifi is very poor, room is too small for queen size bed (the balcony door hit the bed, bedside table furniture missing on the balcony side of the bed, balcony without privacy separators, fish smell on staircase at the day of our arrival very scarce breakfast (the day at our checkout and departure). During the breakfast, waiting in line for somebody to slice cheese and ham, waiting in line for somebody to prepare eggs. (Nobody there for the 20 minutes we took breakfast). It seems that Sea Lion Hotel retained the Covid 19 restrictions which benefit their side and limit tourists services, fitness and Spa are out of work, but they marketed it as they offer these sevices. This hotel is a 3 hotel at best, not as it is listed, as a 4 hotel with a rate of 190 euro/night!!! Of course, they don't want to reimburse the money. We stayed a week here. Accessibility wise, it is only a short walk to the beach and restaurants BUT it is down and then up a very steep hill. Unless you like fish, most of the nearby restaurants will not suit you. Would recommend having a car due to these facts. There is a courtesy mini bus service to a beach which was at a cost of €25 euros per day inc umbrella, chairs etc. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice. The food was very good but is a limited menu. Portion size on the small size. We ate breakfast most mornings which at €5 is good value for money . Varied buffet breakfast with lovely local bread and cakes, fruit yoghurt etc, cold meat and cheeses and scrambled eggs. We booked 6 months in advance and were disappointed with the room allocated to us. We had booked a superior room and queried on the first night if that was what we were in. We were assured we were……but….. on further conversation the next day with very helpful check in desk staff, it became clear we were in one half of a family room. There was not much difference in amenity except the superior room was approx 8-10 m2 bigger…..so a huge difference. We were subsequently moved on night 3 of 7 so this aspect was disappointing and the photos on the website of various rooms are very misleading. We felt slightly cheated over this. There is also an issue with noise from other rooms which is audible for sure but did not cause us any significant issue. In terms of the rooms and public areas, the gardens and pool areas are very pleasant to spend time in. The restaurants for breakfast and dinner are ok too. The rooms and corridors are tired and do need refreshing in our view, especially the bathrooms which are showing signs of age with black mould in a lot of the grouting. Lastly, the staff throughout the hotel were outstanding in every respect. The service was exceptional…… friendly, informative, professional and efficient. 10/10. Had this not been the case we would have reviewed it at 3/5.
