I have just come back from Hylatio Tourist Village in Pissouri Cyprus after a week with my sister. I was pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. We always book a room each and found that we had our own 2 level little houses which would easily accommodate a family of 4. Although basic they were very clean. The staff especially Christian are very helpful and friendly. We opted for all-inclusive and the food was nice with a varied menu. The only downside was the arrival of alot of teenagers on the 5th day when our peaceful, relaxing vacation became quite a bit louder. I would still definitely recommend the Hylatio. It is nicely situated just a 10 minute stroll to the beach.

The hotel is set in very pretty gardens and our studio was spacious. Unfortunately you would have to be 7ft tall to reach the hangers in the wardrobe. Friendly staff. Sadly the food let the holiday down. Same dishes served several times over the ten days' stay. Lacked flavour, imagination and variety, particularly lunch and dinner. Breakfast was the best meal of the day.

This “tourist village” is nothing like the advertisement. No WIFI at all for first 3 days, spent a fortune on data then when it was “fixed” it only worked outside and was very hit and miss. To say it is “self catering” is a stretch. We had a kettle and a broken toaster. We had pots and pans, but no appliances whatsoever bar a fridge. There was no mini market on site as advertised and no bicycle rental as also advertised. The shop and beach were both a 10 minute walk from the apartments. Staff were not very approachable and we were made to feel sub-class due to not getting “all inclusive package” (thankfully!!). We spent so little time on site as there was nothing to keep us there. We went to the pool once which was over run my kids inflatables and water guns. We went to the beach every other day which was 7.50 for 2 loungers. Pissouri itself and the grounds are very beautiful and scenic, just not at all the type of place we imagined when booking. We got a bus to Paphos one day which was only €2 per person but taxi back (as buses only run 3 times a day, last bus 2:30pm) cost us €65. If you do not hire a car, you are very limited with options to fill your days and restaurants for food. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I wouldn't recognise the Hylatio Tourist Village from some of the Reviews that have been left. This is our second visit and we would happily go again. We asked for the same room as last time and they were able to accommodate us. Yes, the apartment is dated, the beds on the firm side and the whole apartment could do with a bit of TLC and makeover, but it was more than adequate for our needs. Having limited mobility, I found the over the bath shower difficult to cope with and in this day and age, I feel that to be more inclusive of disabled people, the bath should be removed and a walk in shower installed. But I knew that and it was a compromise I was happy to make because we like the place very much. It's not huge which is what we prefer. The site has a washing machine and tumble dryer. A wash is €4 and tumble dry is €2, which is very reasonable. It also has a 'library' of books where you can help yourself to a holiday read. All the staff, including the owner were very friendly. They will help you with reservations and taxi bookings etc. The food can be a bit repetitive, but so are most AI establishments. We were able to get something we liked at very meal. The village is a 10 minute walk away, but we coped with that. During the day, everything is centred around the pool and bar, with not much else, so if you want other diversions to occupy you, don't come here, unless you are prepared to make your own entertainment. There was entertainment three nights a week, some acts better than others, but we don't crave entrainment every night, being quite happy to sit and have a glass of wine and just generally relax. I wouldn't recommend self-catering. The facilities for this are very basic and to get supplies if you don't have a car can be an onerous trek back up the hill from the small supermarkets, loaded with s supplies. The hotel could make this more clear in their advertising, I think. Don't come here if you are hoping for a 4 or 5 star experience for 3 star prices. Hylatio Tourist Village is relatively quiet and simple compared to most hotels, so if you want entertainment and busyness every day, rthis wouldn't suit you.

I'm not sure where the bad reviews come from unless you're expecting 5* The hotel is clean, you have fresh towels and bedding. The food is lovely, the staff are very hard working and friendly. The pool is big and you can always get a sunbed. The grounds are immaculate the rooms are basic but everything works and the shower is powerful. I'd happily stay here again and myself and my family feel very welcome.

Very disappointed with our stay at the haylatio. Rooms extremely basis with very old furniture, extremely hard uncomfortable beds and only one wardrobe to put your clothes, no drawers, very dated bathroom and lots of ants. Dining hall and sitting area very old fashioned, reminded you of a school dinner hall. Food wasn’t any better, very basic breakfast with limited choice of hot breakfast, a coffee machine that took 3 minutes to make a cup of coffee, yogurt with tinned fruit. Lunch and dinner no better, no labels on what was on offer, it was guess work to try and decide what we were eating. In the end we went out for diner every night. Drink were local which were ok but the mixers were awful. Coke and lemonade tasted like very flat soda stream. First night we arrived was a singer which sounded like a bad karaoke and lasted all night up to 12:30. Second night there we are sitting there and a lovely group of ladies were behind us ( I noticed it was a hen do of about 20 ladies as there was a bride there dressed up) all the table were just chatting and then at 10:30 a man came out screaming at them ( found out it was the owner!) saying they were being loud, screaming and shouting and he was trying to go to sleep and has called the police! This was completely uncalled for! If anything he should have come out asking everyone to try and keep the noise down but know, came out screaming at the top of his voice! It was completely terrible and no need for it at all, they wasn’t doing anything! Customer service awful! That’s when we decided not to even drink in there in the evening, so rude and completely ruined our night. The group that he shouted at were a large wedding group of around 40+. We started chatting to them around the pool and they were lovely, yes loud but it would be as it was a late group of people who all knew each other, what did the hotel except? If the hotel didn’t want a big group they shouldn’t cater for them! Felt really sorry for them as they were a really lovely bunch of people. All in all definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel, the Pissouri area is beautiful soo stay somewhere else in my opinion. Area definitely worth a visit but not the 3 star rating hotel, should just snot be a 2 star
