I hardly ever write reviews but this was unacceptable. We had 2 young kids with us. The night before we checked out, a rat got onto my husband's arm and him jumping up in bed woke me up at 1:40am. We could see signs of where it's been by the traces of poo on the bedsheet and bedside table, also by the curtains and next to the sofa. I called the receptionist who didn't sound surprised nor did she apologize, said she could only send a security guard to see if he could catch it, and if not, we would move to another room. He came, didn't catch anything, and gave me key cards to another room. We walked about 2 min with our sleeping kids to the other block, only to see yet another bigger fatter rat outside, and a cockroach running across as I was about to open the door. We decided to return to our room as we didn't know if there would be more unwelcomed friends waiting for us in the new room. We ended up leaving the light on to deter the rat from coming onto our bed at least. My husband barely slept. At check-out I mentioned"the rat incident" briefly to the receptionist, who was nonchalant about it. The hotel itself was actually quite decent, particularly the atmosphere by the pools and in the restaurant. The understaffing and dirty crockery would not have been enough for me to write a bad review but from reading the other reviews, they seem to have been an ongoing issue. I got the sense from the staff and the seemingly standard responses to the other guests' reviews by the general manager that they didn't seem to care, just wanted us to pay the money, and go away. The point is, rats don't just stay in one room, the one in ours was a baby one, which means there are definitely more around the hotel.
