We really enjoyed our stay at Mangoes. It was quiet as there were no children and few people around. We had a private pool room with lagoon view and we thought it was great. We used the pool daily and took advantage of having it. We had breakfast daily there and our room included a light breakfast, ie: toast/croissant or yoghurt & fruit, if you wanted eggs or bacon etc you have to pay the difference, we did this a couple of days and the eggs were nice. We had lunch there once which was good and dinner twice, the food was exceptional but a little pricey. The service was great and couldn’t be faulted. Our only negative comments would be that the pool should have a hand rail as the steps are very steep (we aren’t as young as we used to be). The room is well set up, it had a king sized bed, small table with 2 chairs and 2 sitting chairs also. The bathroom was spacious but there is no where to put toiletries as sink area is small. The shower head wasn’t the best and needs updating. The doors that leads to swimming pool let in a lot of light at night and the room is far from dark. TV only had 1 channel, we luckily connected to our Netflix account as could not work out how to access movies which it was supposed to have. There is NO air conditioning included in room, we couldn’t locate the remote and when we asked they advised we had to pay extra for AC… we have never in all our travels not had AC included in the AC unit os in the room… I think they should build the $20 a day charge into the room rate. Overall we really enjoyed Mangoes, would recommend and would stay again.

Decent room size with balcony. The pool view room has larger patio with decent view. However the rooms have ants problem inside and outside. The water system has problem sustaining consistent hot water for showers. The staff are great though. The service is accommodating.

A quiet and peaceful place to stay. No children. No music. Just calm. They are very accommodating and we were able to extend our stay. Husband has coeliac disease and needs gluten free food. Chef came and spoke to us. He made a GF menu and my husband has not been sick once.

Hmmm, we weren’t sure what to expect, was a bit disappointing. As there was French influence years ago we thought this might have an influence on the food. Nah. The croissants for breakfast were like crescent shaped bread rolls, not delicious crispy pastry. The toast was like a brick. Portion sizes with the muesli started off good. Then the slanted bowls started to arrive not much muesli to be found. Then one day no museli. Portion sizes with the fish curry, I had 3 times, were the same as the muesli. The second time I had it, different chef? Lots of fish which was great and delicious. It seems the longer you stay, the less you get. In saying above we came for a relaxing holiday which we did. There’s a fabulous supermarket not far away bon Marche nambatu, good for supplies. Also one in town. Plus French bakery next to Bred Bank. Pad Thai also worth a visit. Town is easy walk from resort bus back super easy.

We spent multiple hours scanning through hotels on Vanuatu and decided to go with Mangoes given the positive reviews about the food and our lack of willingness to move around to find a superb dinner. The accomodation is nice with a great view over the lagoon. We stayed in a room with lagoon view and private plunge pool (it was unfortunately too cold to use it). Absolutely no regrets. Rooms are spacious and the resort has all amenities you need. Some elements are a bit older but nothing too worry about, A/C and fans didn’t less us down. The resort has multiple on site pools and free access to the facilities of the neighbouring Terrace boutique hotel. All can be arranged by the hotel or you simply walk 15 minutes down to Port Vila to figure things out on your own. The Trust the Chef menu was an amazing experience with the resort doing tons of effort to make it your own private experience including setting up in a romantic setting, personalising the menu and customising any dishes to align with your favorites. The chef explains every course and did make delicious food. Definitely would recommend this experience whether you stay at the resort or not! For a long time we were in doubt about staying at Mangoes or the Irikiri resort but we are sure we made the right choice. Irikiri is remote (dependant on ferry’s), seems older and the “view” from the island was blocked by cargo and army ships and a far-beyond-any-glory ****** hotel. If you are in doubt yourself, don’t pay the 3x price and enjoy your stay at Mangoes!

Beautiful resort set in lush gardens with 3 pools and overlooking a lagoon. Customer service was exceptional. I have stayed at Mangoes twice and would definitely stay again. I highly recommend the resort restaurant too. Lovely meals and flexible menu if you are vegetarian. Shout out to Taku and Thomas from the Restaurant and Cici, the hotel manager.

The perfect venue to relax and do nothing or use as a base to explore. The villas are very comfortable (highly recommend private pool villa), food is excellent, didn't have a bad meal, staff are helpful and very friendly, grounds a beautifully maintained.
