Old Town Prague|0.3km from Univerzita Karlova - Knihkupectví Karolinum
Booking from 14/02/2023 to 21/02/2023 for 4 people in BHG APARTMENT We overnight stay in APARTMENT 2 and on 20/02/2023 (dd/mm/yy) from 2 p.m. the water felts in our apartment so we had unease about hygiene and services (cooking included). We talked with reception and they said that we had to wait. At 6 p.m. we called again the reception to search for more information and we waiting until 7:30 p.m. They called us and said that finally we’ve been change our apartment with another. We were really tired (in order to not having a place were we could relax ourselves for hours before go out again in the night). So on, the other apartment was far from the first hotel; far from the central place (OLD TOWN SQUARE) where we want to overnight stay and of what we payed; and it also was in a place not really quite. The apartment was really bad, doesn’t respect the standards of a 4 stars hotel because it was really dirty, smaller, fetiscent and with no services (bidet, terrace, hob, oven…). We hadn’t a room from 2 p.m. if we liked to have a shower, we couldn’t! It was 9 p.m. and we really don’t even know where we had to sleep, where we had to go to the toilet and where we had to put our 6 luggage! The girl who stayed at the reception, Tatsiana, (and her manager too) propose us to have the night free and stay in that bad apartment, and also they will give us a voucher from 200 CROWN (exactly 8 euros) so on we could spend it for a dinner in the terrace with a special sit to admire the view! For what? If we’ve accepted, where we’ve to sleep? Certainly not in that dirty apartment! Obviously we said no and reject her propose (you can’t buy people with money or offer them a voucher from 200 crowns, when they are telling you that don’t have a place to overnight stay!) Over that, she told us that she was already called others hotels looking for a room, but they were all full! And also their sisterhood hotel and their presidential rooms was full! That’s no possibile! There are so many hotels near by Old Town Square! And a real hotel can’t be full on a Monday in February! Hotels always have a spare rooms! After 30/40 minutes a man come to us telling that they found a room in another hotel who was 2 minutes from “Hotel U Prince”! Weren’t it all full?! It was 10 p.m and we were really mad, tired and we couldn’t enjoy our last night in Prague! Leave and learn. I will never recommend this hotel.

Old Town Prague|0.14km from Univerzita Karlova - Knihkupectví Karolinum
PROS 2 minutes walk from the main square with the astronomical clock. Huge room, enormous beds, stylish, beautiful old room and furnishings (but not tatty or dirty). Functional and working bathroom with shower, bath, toilet with paper and bidet, very clean. Fantastic breakfast. Windows open onto a pleasant square with restaurants, which creates a cozy atmosphere. And if you want to sleep early, you can close the double windows and hear virtually nothing from outside. The owner and receptionist speak good English. You can check out before 11:00 by simply leaving your key in the room and closing the door behind you. DISADVANTAGES No permanent reception; you must make a telephone appointment to check in. You can drop your bags earlier at a restaurant across the street. They put it in a locked room so it is safe. But the 'we'll see when we arrive' in the afternoon is a bit difficult. You only get one set of keys and the door to the room locks automatically. So you have to be very careful that you have the key with you when you go out and 2 people cannot leave the door independently of each other if you don't know who will be back first. And if something goes wrong with the keys, there is no reception to help you. Breakfast, although fantastic provided by a restaurant across the street, does not start until 9:00. That is too late for the early birds who want to get into the city early to avoid the crowds and the heat. CONCLUSION We would definitely come again, if necessary without skipping breakfast. The location, the room, the nice owner and receptionist, and the reasonable price more than make up for the negatives.

Advantages: The location is just opposite the Astronomical Clock. The decoration was not bad, giving a discount card for 15% of the three restaurants downstairs. Disadvantages: Very fatal flaws are particularly noisy! ! ! My friend and I lived on the second floor 220 on April 20th. Every night, people were very loud and noisy, talking, the sound of pedestrians passing by on the street, the crash of the dishes downstairs, and the conversations on the terrace. It is clear that even the smell of the restaurant downstairs can be smelled. There was no sound insulation in the window. We didn’t fall asleep until two o'clock in the night. We could only go downstairs to find the front desk staff. The hotel staff knew that there were frequent complaints from the guests, but we did not fulfill any obligation to inform before we booked and checked in. In the face of our complaints, the staff did not find the source of the noise and did not take any other measures. Just provided us with earplugs. We asked for a change of room and did not receive a response. As a hotel, the most basic function is to provide guests with a quiet and comfortable sleeping environment. However, the experience of staying at this hotel is very poor. My friends and I have not slept almost all night, and we have to catch the train early the next morning. It leads to our physical and mental fatigue. We don't know if there is such a situation in this room where we only live or in every room, but in our experience, it is highly recommended that you set this hotel!

Beautiful hotel in the Old Square of Prague. It is in a perfect location and the service was excellent. The breakfast was wonderful as well. Just steps away is the Old Square and the Easter Market was going on. Almost everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location just off the Old Town Square. I had two stays here in June. Rooms are large and spacious. However, note that there is no elevator in this hotel, if that is important to you. We were two groups in our 60’s and 70’s and initially given rooms on the 3rd floor (American 4th floor). Luckily on arrival there was a young man who was able to carry bags upstairs but upon leaving I was told there was no one to help but after struggling a flight, someone came to help. For my second stay, I got a lovely room on the 1st floor, large, comfortable and great bathroom and shower. Avoid room 831 if you like to stand under a shower, bathtub with hand held shower only. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast with rolls, breads, meats, cheeses, some hot choices, yogurt, cereals. However, no fresh fruit other than bananas or apples. Overall, great choice and location and all the receptionists were very kind, lovely and helpful.

The staff were amazing! The inner court yard was charming. The room was on the top floor and the exposed old wood roof beams made a cool design. Very large room and nice features. The manager Martin was an amazing host. Our plane was delayed to very late in the evening and he fixed it so we could get in the room with convenient directions. Martin and the rest of the staff were welcoming and super friendly. We have stayed in many hotels but Josefine Old Town Square makes it in our top three all time for charming hotels.

Perfect location slap bang in the middle of the old town. Worth bearing in mind that with this comes a bit of noise at night time from the nightlife. Didn’t bother us too much as the long days exploring and drinking the beer has taken their toll!! Staff were friendly but left you to it really, which I liked. There was a free map available on the reception counter which was a nice touch. We didn’t stay for breakfast or eat at the restaurant. Room was decent, bed comfy, bathroom clean, enough coat hangers and general storage space for a long weekend. The main room was a little dirty in places and the fridge (minibar) hummed a little bit when it was on. Shower was tricky to get right as the water pressure was crazy high. I’d go back, it was well priced and all about the location!
