Crown Paradise Golden All Inclusive Resort - Adults Only

This is an affordable all-inclusive place to stay with a nice beach for swimming and sitting on the sand. There isn't much shade but you can rent a beach umbrella and chairs. The lobby and buffet are open air so it can get really hot during the warmer months. The food was safe, but unremarkable. There was a good variety of choices everyday and each night at the buffet had a theme, such as Mexican, Seafood night and BBQ to name three. We were there at the beginning of October and the weather was still quite hot and the Air Conditioning in the inside restaurants was not quite strong enough to cool the place down, but the servers were excellent. I was worried before arriving that the hotel would be noisy at night, but they have a night club for the resort across the street for all of the late night partiers making the hotel a quiet place to rest and sleep. However, one of the elevators must have been over something very stinky because most of the time, there was a smell of sewer for a lot of our rides. It was the elevator that was for the rooms on the beach front side of the hotel that went up to the 7th floor. The other elevator in that section only went up to the 6th floor. The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We were on a top floor with roof exposure so our room was never able to cool down below 77 degrees despite the hotel's efforts to fix the AC so I had difficulty sleeping. I understand the lower rooms were nice and cool for sleeping. The maid did a great job keeping our room clean! This is a great place to stay for those who like a busy active beach area. It is centrally located which makes it easy to go into town or access tours. The hotel staff was great. If you want a more relaxing, quieter beach and pool, you will probably need to go elsewhere.

I liked that the resort is right next to the ocean and beach. They had plenty of places to sit and relax. The food was horrible, except if you are able to make reservations at one of the 3 restaurants. They would not let us make reservations to one of the restaurants the day we arrived. Reservations have to take place at 9a. The food in the buffet (if you don't make a reservation) was okay. Be sure to get the buffets right when they open or you will be waiting in line for a table. The swimming pools are not heated (despite what they say on the website). I got used to the water. The adult pool was very relaxing and quiet. The jazzari was great. Loved the bar right there. I liked that the resort was right next to a pharmacy and grocery store. We took a zip lining tour that was advertised by someone who was at the resort. Fantastic tour- Los Veranos Canopy Tour.

I don't usually post negative comments, but if this will help another traveler make an informed choice, I thought I'd let you know a couple of things. First, I booked a junior suite with an ocean view. The rooms are very nice and spacious. However, our ocean view was actually of telephone poles and wires and the thatched roof of the club across the alley. I admit, the ocean was in view, beyond these obstacles. Our original room was on the 4th floor and the first night our roof sprung a fast leak due to the downpour outside. It was mostly cleaned up and we were told to let the front desk know in the morning that we needed to move rooms. I would have thought that due to the inconvenience of having to re-pack everything, that they would have given us an upgraded room. Instead, they gave us a junior ocean view suite on the 3rd floor with a closer view of the wires and rooftop. This room also had only one patio chair so even if we wanted to sit out on the patio, we wouldn't have been able to together. The resort itself has nice amenities.
Hotel Luxury Patio Azul

I stayed here for 3 days. The lobby is nicely appointed, and the rooms are awesome. Check in and out is simple. The ”restaurant” area is used for eating as well as the hang out area because the poo/bar area is small. Now for the issues. There were no wash clothes in the bathroom of the room. Th TV allows a guest to use Netflix, Hulu or the like. There was no access to tv such as CNN. The restaurant often does not have simple things like sugar, pasta or rice. It often does not have major ingredients like shrimp and there is a very limited menu. More significant, there is one employee Eduardo (who is good but plays favorites with guest) who is the server, busser, pool boy, towel guy and bar tender. Service is glacially slow at best. The upside is the area is well kept. since everyone basically has to hang out there, they need electric sockets in more convenient areas. Finally, because of the size most guests are friendly.
Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta - All Inclusive

We were not happy with the Grand Park Royal Hotel in Puerta Vallarta. The room had an inoperable deadbolt and the road noise was incredibly loud for being on the 10th floor. We had to put a towel at the base of the door to deaden the sound. We had to get Maintenance to fix the deadbolt after arguing with them, but even with the fixed deadbolt, anyone with a passkey could enter the room. Not very secure. The hotel beachfront is in a calm bay with pleasant water clarity and warmth (warmer than the pools). The two pools are oddly shaped with limited access in and out of the pools. No hot tub. The swim-up bar and snack bar were convenient. The hotel is far from the airport and downtown area which can be good and bad depending on your preferences.
Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center

I stayed at the Sheraton with my husband while recovering from shoulder surgery. Our room was very comfortable except for the temperature. We could not ever cool it to our satisfaction. We asked for it to be looked at and nothing changed. We enjoyed the ala carte restaurants especially pescatore. The sunset view was beautiful. The hotel location is excellent. 20 minute walk to the Malecon. I have to mention a few special workers. Liliana, serving around the pool; Edgar, the concierge; Angel, at the Lobby bar and Marco. They all went over and above to provide great service. Overall the wait staff and front desk people were excellent! Thank you to all.
