Sneaked in a little holiday before English Summertime ends and the nights (and days) get too chilly. Once again, I'm back at the Parrotel where the staff and management treat me like a Queen and I can luxuriate in absolute safety, comfort and sunshine. Fabulous welcome from Concierge Tamer Tantawy, who never fails to make me feel on the top of the world with his kindness, thoughtfulness and humour. Despite the, lateness of my arrival, the restaurant (Olivio's) was open so I could feast before unpacking and resting following my flight. The food her is excellent especially the Egyptian dishes eg Oriental Beans, Fried Fish, Beef in whatever sauce, Chicken, Rice, Salad, Bread, etc et al, and all the desserts are sublime! Overseen by Sayed Khairy, Muhammed, Hisham Shaaban who are as courteous, kind and humorous as you could ever wish anyone to be. The grounds are beautifully kept by the friendly staff and are a delight to walk in both day and night. This October, I had a fight with some mosquitoes and lost, resulting in lots of nibbles. Not had this problem before so I suggest you visit armed to the teeth with anti mosquito stuff. I visited in Feb and May and had no problem, so maybe October isn't the best month. Temperatures were consistently 33 degrees during the day and a couple of days it was very humid. Even the locals were struggling! Everywhere has aircon so no need to suffer for long. Beautiful sea, sunrises and sunsets. This place is Paradise. A sea so clear and blue that you can see every fish, the multicoloured coral etc. My accommodation was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I've learnt to take fewer clothes and handwash what I have which dries in next to no time in the desert heat. Bliss. There are lots of trips to go on, my favourites being snorkelling, quad-biking, trip to Cairo and museum (i think the new museum has now opened?) free afternoon and night trip into Sharm incorporating a Mosque, Coptic Church, Cleopatra Oils, Spices etc and some shopping. It is important to know that appreciation is shown by tipping! I'm coming back again next year. Lovely place, lovely people, lovely food, lovely gardens. Perfection. Enjoy!
