I have mixed feelings about this place. It sits above an amusement arcade, which was thankfully closed after 10pm due to covid, so was quiet. The room was clean and comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed. It was a 10 min bus ride from the town centre and a 10 min walk from the REWE supermarket. Check-in was difficult as there is no reception, and after completing the details on the check-in machine outside the main door, it said that I had been unsuccessful. Luckily a fluent German speaker sorted it out for us over the phone. The woman she spoke to seemed a little annoyed at being contacted, and said she had emailed me to arrange check-in. The only email I had regarding check-in asked me to call to make arrangements but left no phone number! I replied, but heard nothing back. Our first few days were good, however we came back one evening to find the security door wedged open with a foam door stopper (see photos). We removed it, but the next morning it was back. My husband spoke to the cleaner, who suggested it may have been wedged open so that people arriving late at night could at least get into the premises. She removed the stopper, but when he returned 30 minutes later it was back again. Apart from the day when someone was in the office, the security door was wedged open day and night for the rest of our stay. Not sure what the place is being used for in addition to a guesthouse, but I wouldn’t be keen to stay there again.
