I stayed in the hotel for the commitment I had because it was close. As it was one night only, I chose to book. The room was very dirty, sabble paper open in the pier, all dirty. 2 towels, 1 was acceptable and the other was completely swept and damaged. I put it on the floor because I had no courage to use it. The bed is horrible and noisy, and the dressers too. Have you seen a short shirt? Yes, it was so much to cover up to half the body and thinnerly impossible. I had nothing but that shirt to cover. Summary: I didn't sleep anything, super discomfortable. It's all about all the rooms, bad clothing. Coffee is half mouth, but in any case I've seen worse. The only positive point is that the reception official called ”D”. When we arrived at the hotel, we were surprised by the information that the system was out of the air and would take a little, then the same offered us 2 courtesy drinks for the event. The only thing I liked at the hotel, but you're only reserved in the last case if you don't want to get angry.

I actually had 2 comfortable nights at this hotel but their website just kept on charging my credit card over and over. Thankfully, it showed up on my phone, so I was able to inform the staff and show them the receipt at the time. A very helpful front receptionist said he would contact the finance department and that when I checked out early the next morning' it would all have been rectified. When I went to reception, no one could help and I was told to wait for the manager who would be on duty after my flight left..... So far, no response from this hotel and no money back.I've contacted my credit card provider and so I now have to battle to get my money back. My experience of checking in was in I’m afraid to say, truly awful. I arrived at 5am and the older gentleman checking me in was ignorant. Apparently, he was the ‘English speaker’ on duty and he completely ignored me when I asked a question. I received no information whatsoever about breakfast times, where facilities in the hotel were and he didn’t even have the good manners to look up at me when I checked in, he just opened his hand for my passport. He started huffing and getting obviously irritated when I asked if it were possible to arrange a later breakfast as I wouldn’t be getting to bed u TIL 6am, despite having to pay for the hotel for the night before. The guy actually just ignored me until I asked him directly and he didn’t even look up and said ‘no’ in a really annoyed manner. Great customer service, thanks! Thankfully, when I had need to speak to reception staff during the day, this was a much better experience. I spoke to a young woman and on another occasion a young uni man who were friendly and helpful, so much so, I decided to stay again on my return trip the following week. That was up until they kept charging my credit card, firstly through the own hotels website that said the transaction failed but charged the credit card and then again when duplicate monies had been charged by the hotel. Mistakes happen. It it how quickly and satisfactorily they are sorted that makes the difference between staying there again and avoiding it. Would I recommend staying here? Yes, breakfast is good and the hotel was clean and quiet on the 19th floor. It is dated and could do with updating but it is not bad value when they don’t empty your bank account! Just pay in cash if you’re staying there and avoid that nasty old man on reception who works at night.

Very central location, close to all the main attractions in Rio, but due to this there are a lot of homeless close to the hotel. Staff in the hotel were helpful and polite. Clean rooms. We were originally given the wrong type of room which was sorted the next day. Close to metro station. Breakfast options don’t change day to day.

I was hosted in this hotel last weekend - 02 to 03/07/2022. I have contacted me, and Mrs Vanessa has answered me, she kept the forgotten pieces, and the next day she sent me for Sedex with great delight and sympathy, and I would like to congratulate her on the sensitivity and empathy shown by that person. All the staff very careful and efficient.

Beautiful Hotel from room views and the the pool side and the garden beachfront so relaxing 🌅🌇 breakfast Is everything good.🥐🍳 wonderful stays disabled access ♿ toilet, elevator 🛗 so cool haha I was just confused the turnings round elevator abc number anyways on the the room.arw in circles too ☺️ probably it's the designs infrastructure is cute tallest building I love everything and would choose this hotel when comes to Rio de Janeiro don't skip to stay and experience this paranomic views,the hotel stuff are really nice the ladies ,the doorman and even the one helps our luggage the front parking lot big space taxis are outside ready to go.ooh the area is closer to leblon and far from Copacabana,I stay from the Centro when I book the hotel don't have clue how far this hotel from where I was so better check the map me or Google haha 😂 so you won't feel lost like me.its very Forest mountain 🏔️ sides and it's cooler it's difirent sides of town I guess the resort is very outstanding from the area Have a shotp,have good foods, actually don't need to go out if you come for relaxing 🌅 massage,beach eat chilling stay in the morning the sunrise 🌅 so beautiful birds chirping so calm 🦜🦜🦜🦜 it's perfect hotel for me the room have smart light or just a multi colored lights haha makes it more night so romantic ❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤️❤️❤️

Old, very old and sleeved beds and beds. Clean but sleeved and broken. Towels: very used, with some sleeves. It's time for them to make a complete renovation. It's the basic thing that is asked for a 3-star hotel. Cleanliness: very light, upstairs. A bad breakfast: abundant, missing more variety of fruit, with everything Brazil has was scarce. Let me tell you about my stay, I went to Rio de Janeiro Brazil for 6 weeks from Sept to Oct 2020 for medical tourism.  During my trip and when I was not in the hospital having surgery I stayed at Hotel Vilamar and I'm so thankful I did.  There are so many things I could list, but I'll just list a few.  After my first surgery and I checked in, I was greeted by the Hotel manager Cecilia.  She was very kind, caring and assisted me in so many ways. She sent me to a wonderful salon to get my hair fixed after 6 days in the hospital.  If my friend (from The UK and I from The US) and I did not show up for breakfast because my face was all black & blue, or issues walking (I had 2 surgeries while there) she or her staff would call our room to see if we needed food sent up to our room. (I do not know if that's standard but to my friend and I, we felt special.)  If we ever called down to the front desk, or stopped at the desk and asked for something, the staff at Hotel Vilamar was on it, and took care of our needs.  In the morning when we would go for breakfast, the girls there would always greet us by our names and ask how we were and always asked if we needed anything. The gentlemen behind the desk were always pleasant and referred us to some great places to see that we did not know about.  One day I had to go to the pharmacy that was right next to the hotel but all the staff only spoke Portugese, Cecilia went with me to the pharmacy and helped me get everything I needed.  One day, post facial surgery I could only eat soft food and my eyes were all swollen, one of the staff members walked across the street to a gelato store and helped me get something to gelato.  The housekeeping staff was always kind and worked around me while I was recovering.   The hotel was always clean and shiny and the staff very attentive to our needs, but they were kind and treated us like family.  There is so much I could add about Cecilia and her staff, but I just want to say;  ”They not only meet our needs but they exceeded in meeting our expectation of the treatment someone staying at a hotel should receive. I have a friend who will be going to Rio very soon, I have already told them about Hotel Vilamar and she will be reaching out to them soon and I plan on returning during 2021 for another 4 to 6 weeks and I would stay at no other hotel.  I truly give them 10 stars!

I’d give 4.5 stars if I was allowed but not quite 5. The pandemic caused a few issues (bar been closed early and no 24 hour room service) and I had a few very minor issues-One day my water wasn’t replaced and on another I ordered room service and one of the items didn’t arrive. This happened another day but the guy realised and went back. The room was a double delux and was amazing with a great view and duel aspect. Roof top pool is great and although I didn’t use the gym there is a small one if needed. The staff were all helpful and polite and the food was good as well as the breakfast. Always felt safe and secure and the cleaners always did a great job.
