SpringHill Suites Roanoke Reviews

We had a pleasant stay at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Roanoke hotel. The lobby area was nice and wide open, providing seats and tables that were shared with the breakfast area; additionally, there was a bar area with high seats/stools and multiple televisions. The staff (front desk receptionists, housekeeping personnel, breakfast servers) were friendly and professional. Our King Suite wasn't large, but it was perfect for two people. The room came with all the normal amenities (iron and ironing board; hair dryer; hangers; mini-refrigerator; K-cup coffee machine), plus there was a divider on the desk that could be closed when the bedroom wanted a little privacy from the sitting room; the bedroom and the sitting room (with desk) each had their own flat-screen television, so that was a first for us (two televisions!). The bathroom sink and shower/bathtub worked well, with a good range of water temperatures. The bed was comfortable. We had no issues with noises from the hallway or from other rooms. The complimentary breakfast was of good quality, and the breakfast area was maintained nicely. The standard fare that was available for the few days that we were here consisted of: scrambled eggs; turkey sausage patty; sausage links; warm biscuits; bite-size poppyseed and blueberry muffins; bagels; bread; cream cheese; grape jelly; orange juice; apple juice; 2% milk; whole milk; nonfat chocolate milk; two belgian waffle-makers; dole tropical fruit cups; hard-boiled eggs; dannon creamy yogurts; bananas; apples and/or oranges; coffee; hot oatmeal plus six toppings (brown sugar, craisins, raisins, coconut, granola, pumpkin seeds); instant Quaker oatmeal cups; Nature Valley chewy granola bar (chocolate chunk flavor). Outdoor parking is available, and there is also a small underground parking garage, too. There is an added layer of security available in the parking garage as you need to use your room card in order to access the elevator, which you can use to go directly to your floor. However, please note that there are not many parking spaces available in the garage, the area is small, and folks with large cars or SUV's may not want to risk maneuvering around and/or parking in such tight spaces. This location is close to the Virginia Tech medical school (walking distance) and to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (very short drive). There are plenty of convenient shopping options (such as pharmacies, fast/casual restaurants, grocery stores, etc.) close by (Franklin Road, Brandon Avenue, just to mention one direction), plus downtown Roanoke and eating establishments in other parts of Roanoke are only a short drive away as well. There is a nice park (sports complex with baseball/soccer fields and tennis courts) across the street from the hotel; on the other side of the Roanoke River is where the other half of this park is located.
