We were looking for a base to tour Hampshire. The Duke fitted the bill. This is the perfect pub, restaurant with rooms. The pub is superb, the food was amazing, rooms high quality, all tied together by wonderful service delivered by a brilliant team.

Lovely hotel with super-king bed which was highly appreciated. Travelled with our puppy and the staff were very accommodating, providing beds, blankets, bowls and treats. Food was good and overall value for money. We booked through Travelzoo which was a good deal. Amber was particularly helpful and even reserved our blue badge parking space for us.

Spent a very pleasant couple of nights at The Duke. Comfortable bedroom.Decent TV and bottled water.Towels changed daily. Liked the designated parking space for the room and separate entrance. Friendly staff Ate in both nights and found the food excellent. Homemade granola with fruit and yoghurt at breakfast was fantastic. Great location.National Trust Mottisfont nearby and trains station at Romsey( went to Southampton). Only 20 mins from Winchester by car. Would certainly stay again.

Property has been recently refurbished so is very clean and rooms are nice. We stayed for a weekend as at a wedding nearby. The only negative is the price of the food. We live in london but were suprised at the prices in the resteraunt, not cheap. The food is fine but is really overpriced.

Great quiet location. Beautifully designed rooms comfortable king size bed which was great. Lots of parking. Liked the fan in the room incase we were hot too. Good free WiFi. Good choice of breakfast options too.

The Duke on the Test was a lucky find and we were so pleased with it. Pleasing to the eye if you stay overnight you have your own parking bay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.we were very warmly greeted. Our room was very comfortable and clean.nice and quiet . Beautifully decorated. Breakfast was very nice lots of choice. We would definitely recommend and we would definitely return again.

The hotel was in a perfect location for walking the Test. The whole place was tastefully decorated. Everything we needed was available and the room was very spacious and well equipped with a comfy bed - we especially liked the pillows. The breakfasts were excellent as was our evening meals. Service was friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay here.

No complaints at all about the room, comfortable and clean as ever. Evening dinners were well served and delicious. Loved the concentration on local ingredients. Some niggles over breakfast though, concerning the table setting. Cooked dishes came with toast parked on the same plate. We would have appreciated side plates. There was an inconsistency over amount of milk provided for tea/coffee. One morning one small jug for both of us, the next morning much better 2 small jugs. Finally, salt and pepper had to be hunted down, not available on every table. I stress these were small niggles and that the breakfast offerings were very good. Stand out members of staff? Jane in the restaurant and Penny for looking after our room.

The Duke is a great place to stay just a mile or so from Romsey. The staff are friendly and obliging whilst the rooms are warm with very comfortable beds. The restaurant has an excellent menu with something for everyone and an excellent wine list.
