Magic Norway. We have stayed in only lovely and exciting places on this trip from glamping on a beach, a refuge in the mountains via a vintage hotel, a cosy b&b to this… Our favourite without a close second. A post war “pensjonat” where your initial thought is that time just forgot about it until you realise love found it. I’m old enough to remember these places being the norm and as such not being impressed but to see my childhood through the lens of maturity I instantly fell in love with both Furulund and my childhood. This is the most peaceful place I’ve ever stayed with the best and unobtrusive service, while the food is simple and exquisite as the place itself. Play a game you forgot existed in the “stue” with the fire in the background while enjoying a cold or hot drink while your dinner is lovingly prepared in the kitchen from local ingredients. Eat it in the charming “spisestue” and be surprised by the flavours of a meal you thought was going to be plain and simple. I don’t want to recommend this place simply because I want to keep it to myself.

It was an amazing stay. Everything was clean, the room and the common area were comfy and the breakfast was really delicious. But to be honest, the best thing about my stay was the host. So friendly and warm, very helpful and obliging. I felt so comfortable the whole time and could explore the stunning nature around the accomodation. 10/10, strongly recommend 😊🏔️☀️

I stayed here as a friend, and I drove through Norway back from hiking in the nearby Jotunheimen National Park. We stayed in a 2 twin bed bedroom that had a sink. Toilets and showers were right nearby and were private (single user at a time). Bathroo.s were basic but modern and very clean. Everything was very clean, actually. While the bedrooms were basic, they were quite adequate for the purpose. I liked the availability of comfortable public spaces (living room and upper balcony). The best part was dinner; it was the quality of a fine restaurant (mushroom soup, salmon, and grilled vegetables) - easily the best meal I had in 2 weeks in Norway. You can tell the owner takes great pride in food preparation and, overall, in providing a pleasant stay for hotel guests.

La habitación tenía un tamaño adecuado. El baño estaba siempre impecable. Por otra parte, desgraciadamente, nos decepcionó terriblemente este alojamiento, las instalaciones son anticuadas y la cama muy incómoda, el colchón es muy muy blando. El recepcionista fue bastante hostil a nuestra llegada. El baño, aunque impecable, era uno solo para todo el piso, no es suficiente, casi siempre estaba ocupado y por la mañana se hace difícil no coincidir. El chico estuvo solo en todo el tiempo que nos alojamos allí, nos parece un trabajo excesivo para una sola persona ejercer de recepcionista, cocinero, camarero.... es contraproducente, pues lleva a tener clientes desatendidos y descontentos, por ejemplo la cena, aunque estaba bien, estuvimos esperando sobre una hora por el segundo plato. Demasiado. El desayuno era poco variado y escaso. Una serie de malentendidos y poca comprensión complementaron una estancia poco agradable.
