Many people come to the Blue Lake in RVs and yachts. Needless to say, the scenery of the Blue Lake is so beautiful. Sitting by the lake relaxes your teeth and scalp. The resort has separate toilets and shared toilets/bathrooms. Mostly locals come for water sports and swimming/camping, very few Chinese tourists. It is recommended to bring a swimming ring or surfboard from January to March. There are no restaurants around, so we brought instant noodles and tomatoes on our backs. After eating a few days later, we took a 10-minute taxi to the Landing Cafe next to Terawera Lake to eat. The beach was very lively on a sunny day, filled with children and adults with dogs🐶 Come and play in the water. The lake is crystal clear and opposite is a volcano. You can talk to local people with yachts and let them drive to the hot water beach at the foot of the volcano for a hot spring♨️.

Beautiful campground
Comfortable and well-equipped cabin in beautiful surroundings. Quiet and family-friendly. We especially enjoyed the glow worm cave just a short walk away.

We will be back
We had 3 adjacent cabins for an adult family trip. All cabins were spotless and comfortable. The shared kitchen facility was useful for cooking smelly food away from the cabin (bacon) and the bbq was efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was stunning and we had several dips in the lake. We will definitely book again in a future trip.

There are a number of options to choose for your stay from tenting to a motel room. The place is set in a beautiful area with lots to do. One could stay in and just be or do new adventures daily. Blue lake is just a few steps away for one to play in the water.

This Top 10 campground is great for everyone. Whether you are tenting, staying in a campervan or a self-containing unit you will sure find a great place to stay and time to relax.

Pretty dated cabins that are quite expensive. Nice location by the lake but 15min drive to anywhere else. Park staff are lovely but overall not worth the cost on a unit at this one, the camp sites would be better.

Great facilities, the showers and toilets were very clean and well looked after, we had a powered pitch for our camper. Plenty of space and a quiet site. Great little spot for anyone passing through, I'd suggest it would make a great base camp for a few nights aswell.

Ideal. Handy for the Redwoods & Blue Lake, also Tarawera Trail walk. If you need fast wifi, pick your spot carefully, otherwise can't fault it. Was in a campervan, so the "room" was exactly as I'd built it: 5 stars!
