Please avoid this place, the woman in charge is dreadful and has the attitude of a spoilt child as you’ll notice with how the manage responds to negative reviews in here! breakfast was sub-standard to say the least, not worth the money. Save yourself the hassle and book a premier inn

Fabulous, friendly hotel in a quiet setting. Staff are so friendly and the service excellent. We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed the tranquil environment that this hotel has to offer. The breakfast was freshly cooked and the buffet was ample for our needs. Rooms spacious and comfortable with spotless bathrooms. Would recommend this adult hotel to anyone staying this area.

Myself and my wife recently stayed at this delightful hotel, situated fairly close to St Agnes and a few miles from Peranporth (bus stop also available within half a mile of the hotel). Ideal location for access to the stunning Cornish Coast and a visit to the old Wheal Coates mines, which is a must as is Peranporth beach. We stayed in a very modern part of the hotel on the ground floor which was a very generous size and the underfloor heating was a lovely touch on a cold day. We especially loved the fully tiled walk in shower which refreshed and recharged us for a full day of Cornish exploration. Sadly due to our tight travel itinerary we were unable to partake in an evening meal or breakfast, which we would have loved to try, maybe next time as we will be back when visiting the South West. We would thoroughly recommend trying the Rose In The Vale Country House Hotel. Tip:Care is needed on the narrow local lanes in the area, lots of parking available at the hotel and nearby public transport an option. Local pub with food also available within half a mile.

A beautiful setting, a stunning Grade11 listed property, convenient location to coast and pubs and Jackie, an efficient master of all with a willingness second to none. Sadly that’s where the pluses end. Upon arrival we began to shiver; it appeared that the heating had been switched off ! For goodness sake, we are talking about a cold day in December. It took blankets and a heater to warm our room but needless to say, the water temperature was tepid. Having asked for some hot water after some time when the water remained tepid, I was taken to the upper level to a different bathroom where I had a warm bath. Not too comfortable having to go back to my room to get dressed. An open fire in the dining room was not at all inviting as smoke was pouring out into the room. Now to meals: over a period of three days we suffered sub standard, packet or frozen foods swimming in gravy or sauce. What happened to a gravy boat and sauces on the side? A four star hotel? I don’t think so. Overpriced ? Definitely. Of course we won’t return nor recommend the hotel to friends. What a shame as the establishment has potential.

We arrived on Xmas eve to find that the hotel had been closed and the heating turned on the previous afternoon: needless to say everywhere was colder than charity! After sometime and assistance of an electric heater and blankets it was okay. The evening meal was graced with an open fire: however, the fire was belching smoke into the room (probably trying to tell us to go elsewhere! Being Christmas Eve the supermarkets would be closed so going home was not an option and even if we could get a refund unlikely to find an alternative. Xmas breakfast was average with mini croissant that were stale and doughy (catering supplier frozen. Xmas lunch tepid and drowned in packet gravy). English breakfasts tended to suffer from cooking in stale fat! Xmas evening buffet was probably the best meal of our stay as all cold food. The main meals were overcooked if fried and frozen and from a packet. Other meals often drowned in sauce or gravy and often tepid so luxury price for average canteen fodder. Some general issues: take care approaching reception from car park if wet as very slippery steps and no hand rail, most sash windows are glued shut with paint. Jacky was very helpful. Best to avoid and find a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge for a better experience at lower price. We were surprised that the two full toilet rolls were replaced with one part roll on the last evening and by the notice above the sink that said we were able to use the toiletries without charge!

I would like to thank Paul, Clare and Anthony for their help when my son’s mother in law had a fall when arriving back from my son’s wedding. They came to the rescue, helping her to get back on her feet and helping her back to her room. Despite that, we did have a lovely stay there. The bed was very comfortable and the staff very attentive. Thank you Rose in Vale County House.

Visited again the same week as last year. Upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the pool. Thanks very much! It was spotlessly clean. The large sleigh bed has a mattress that is like sleeping on clouds. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, ask for more if you drink it all( I do like a cuppa). The breakfast is delicious, you can have a traditional english breakfast with good quality produce. The scrambled egg this morning was gorgeous. There is also a variety of choices to eat. The bar is available. Just ask staff, and sit in the beautiful semi rural garden with your G&T or the lounge in the usual British weather. The you in peace. If you want something or you have a question, they will help. If you have the need to question something, then do whatever it is, they will help. Sadly, hotels such as this, cost huge sums to run and deserve to be well-supported to allow them to continue. Try it out....you will return home well rested and cared for

Polite and friendly welcome to this exceptionally clean and nicely decorated hotel. Comfortable good sized room in a quiet countryside setting. Loverly food served in dinning room or lounge aria near bar , Again quiet, comfortable with polite and friendly service from local staff. Good location for mid north cornish coast or in fact any part of central Cornwall. Only there for 2 nights but would happily stay longer another time to explore gardens, local walks and other attractions. Excellent all round!
