Ibis Styles Haydock

The hotel is basic but good for the price. Bedroom was very clean, bathroom could have been cleaner. I was checked in by Jack, who's name badge stated he was a manager so I was really disappointed at the lack of basic customer service. No smile, no information given. I honestly felt like an inconvenience. Around 10am on the morning of my departure, a housekeeper let herself into my room without any form of knocking or announcing herself. I wanted to raise this on check out but couldn't as there weren't any staff to be seen.

Pleasantly surprised at the hotel. Clean and tidy with comfy beds. Kelly, waiting staff when we arrived on the night and at breakfast in the morning went above and beyond. Really friendly and gave excellent service. Even my 8 year old daughter and 6 year old niece mentioned how nice she was. Would stay again.

Key cards repeatedly did not work, after 4 failures which seemed to be my fault ? I said they need to get the lift fixed as it was hurting my knee going up and down to reception to get the key cards redone. The comment of "do i look like a lift engineer" was not a funny response from the person on reception Not a great experience and no indication of if lift will be fixed

Excellent receptionists and bar staff nice room very good value

Excellent value for money would stay again as so handy for Haydock park races and with a lovely pub on the door step.
