Best Hotels near National University, San Jose

This is a very small boutique hotel which is best for business travelers that are only there for a couple days. I was here for a conference and the overall stay was nice. All of the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and provided great customer service. The rooms were somewhat modern with the exception of wear and tear in the bathroom and the old school ac unit in the wall.

I recently stayed because of work and having recently moved to the area was unfamiliar with the Larkspur Landing Franchise. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this location. When I arrived at 3pm to check-in there was of course a long line of people trying to check-in at the sane time. Melissa was working, the lobby was full, she managed to check-in and completely clear out the line in the lobby in less than 15min ALONE, Impressive. The entire staff, extremely friendly, and would greet you with a genuine smile and ask you how your day was going when you walk through the hotel. The rooms are equipped with full size fridge, dishwasher, and the rooms actually have dishes, I have stayed in hotels that had a kitchen but didn’t provide dishes for travelers. Who travels with dishes? The beds are comfortable and there is a large workstation with actual office chairs. I was able to set up my laptop and create a work station which was so helpful to be able to not have to go to a FedEx to do my work. And they provided breakfast for guests, laundry(no charge), the list goes on. This truly is one of the best hotels and I would highly recommend it to those traveling for work and families too. The hotel is quiet at night, not filled with sketchy people, and the parking lot is huge and well lit with cameras. I travel alone and felt totally safe the entire trip. The greeting you get on arrival and any questions you may think will obtain a response probably has already set the tone, but in going back to your room you will be happy. Let the place clear out of the strong cleaning fluid odor....at least you know it is clean. Try to get a spot in the back as it seems less noisy there. the home run here is the comp breakfast which is as good as any in this chain or any other. One lady tends to the place nicely, always clean, well stocked and way beyond what you are expecting. Even a chatty group who seemed to all be attending a quilting show. The rub here is the location and yet if you go just 6 blocks down Camino Real you will fine yourself in Sunnyvale.....very hip and stuffed with excellent dining and accommodations. You do not need to look for Sunnyvale, you can tell as soon as you cross from Santa Clara.

The hotel was nice and clean . I would have giving it 5 stars had it not been for a lady named Efren in guest services. I have never felt so disrespected and treated like garbage by someone who’s job is hospitality. Even check out time is 12 a cleaning walked right in! No knocking. But that’s not my major issue. That lady Efren made me feel worthless and I need to speak to a manager ASAP to discuss the full details becuz this is unheard of! To even yell n raise ur voice to a customer?!? I wasn’t rude or irate. I just had a question and concern. I will be sharing this experience on every platform,social media, even the better business bureau. No one deserves this treatment. I’m so upset and my anxiety is in high gear. Thanks to efren I will have a sleepless night because I’m very upset. There’s plenty more to add. I’d rather speak to a manger or someone who will not let it fall on death ears. I know there’s a lot of reviews that come in but this not only needs to be FULLY addressed but I truly deserve a sincere apologies for this huge negative effect. There’s as many hotels around you’d think this place would value the ones they have. I’d even put up with the cleaning lady walking In unannounced and before checkout. She even apologized. I hate the distance to Santa Cruz from this hotel and we passed quite a few others. So I don’t know what manager is doing or are aware of this but it’s unacceptable. Even if it just happened once. I treally really would appreciate a response. And please not a generic response. I apologize if I come across stern. I’m not. I’m total opposite. I’m just really really upset and offended

From start to finish I really enjoyed Marriott Courtyard Campbell. I called ahead to review information about the hotel and talked to a gentleman named Wally. He was super informative and helpful. When I arrived he also addressed me professionally and was very helpful during the duration of my stay. I would say he exemplifies outstanding customer service. I use Marriott all the time and have not been this impressed or pleased in along time. Plus it is close to home for a nice getaway. Thanks Wally!

Don’t expect to get any rest at this DoubleTree. We booked a hotel room for 3 nights. Room 201, the East wing of the hotel, right next to the retail shops (Marshalls), and above their delivery dock and industrial trash compactor. The rooms were nice & clean. However, you will not be able to have a restful stay at all. Friday night, we were awakened at 3:30am, by a big rig truck, delivering or picking up something. Not sure if it was working for the hotel or the retail, but after this, it was not easy to fall asleep again. Song with this nuisance the doors below us (staff entrance) would open and be slammed non-stop for the next hour. Saturday morning we told the front desk staff about the issue. They said they would move us on the other side of the hotel, but they had to wait for guests to check out (which they assured us they would have) and they could hold a new double room for us. We told them we would be back later after our event, to get the room. Later that day, upon returning to the hotel around 4pm, we came back to the front desk, there was new shift working the front desk. They told us they did not have a new room for us, and that they were fully booked, and were “prioritizing large groups” and did not have a new room for us. Extremely disappointing! Nothing we could do. The next issue was Monday morning. Awakened again, by the hotels laundry delivery service truck at 6am!!!! Rolling his Containers into and out of the truck, using the load lift gate each time. The rooms should be made sound proof, with sound proof windows as well. The hotel should also have an agreement with the retail businesses to not disrupt hotel guests with their deliveries and use of the trash compactor in the middle of the night! Bottom line, the fact that guests could not have a restful nights stay at a hotel, is not good for a hotel! I mean, isn’t this the main purpose for hotels?! For guests to be able to sleep comfortably without disruption?! So beware of this HUGE issue if you decide to actually book a room with this DoubleTree Hilton Hotel.

There is a park supermarket nearby, shopping and leisure are convenient, you can cook... there is laundry in all directions, CVS, trader Joe, whole food ...Ross a lot of food

Pas de placard Salle de bain avec de la moisissure dans la douche où il n’y avait pas de pommeau de douche juste une poire donc obligé de se mouiller les cheveux à chaque fois Ménage une seule fois par semaine Changement serviettes et fourniture d’un petit flacon de shampooing et deux petites savonnettes par semaine Pas d’insonorisation des bruits extérieurs et des climatisations des cambres voisines qui donnent des vibrations dans le lit Notre climatisation faisait tellement de bruit que même en position nuit il est impossible de dormir Le coin cuisine avait une casserole en alu d’un autre temps très abîmé et une poêle dans le même état Une plaque électrique de camping et dès assiette et des couverts du même genre Petit déjeuner sans jus de fruit il y avait café, thé , tranche de pain de mie, petit gâteau,pomme Je déconseille très fortement

I booked a two night stay for a local conference here about four months ago. The rate was an advanced purchase, but I wasn't charged at the time of booking. A week ago, I was charged the full rate for the two days, which was 17 days before check-in. Four days AFTER, I canceled the booking due to a cancellation of the event I was attending. I was confused about the timing of the charge and called customer service to get an explanation that I could pass on to my manager with my reimbursement request. Unfortunately the call experience was just awful. The answers the rep gave me didn't make a lot of sense, but when I tried to question what she was saying, she kept interrupting and talking over me and when I said ”please let me finish”, she actually told me not to be rude! She reasoned I would have been charged the same amount upon cancellation anyway, so what did it matter. That wasn't what I was asking though. I explained that all I needed was to understand the timing and their documentation could be improved. An answer like ”I'm sorry your experience wasn't the best, thank you for your feedback, I'll make sure this gets to the appropriate team” would have been satisfactory, but that's not how the call went at all. I don't have an issue with the charge itself. I understand I booked a pre-paid nonrefundable rate. I never asked for a refund or to dispute the charge itself. I could have dealt with the lack of information on the confirmations. But it's absolutely inexcusable to offer poor customer service on top of that and to call your customers rude. Never ever staying here and will tell my friends who attend nearby events to avoid this place.

This is a great place to stay if you are fussy on cleanliness! The staff, are friendly, helpful, kind and caring. Shey and Jesi are 2 staff members l got to know, all, are more than accommodating!! A very enjoyable experience, clean, safe and quiet. I have already booked this hotel for friends that will be coming to visit. The pool and jacuzzi are a great place for some down time! Thanks to all the staff for creating/maintaining this wonderful place!!
