We have just returned from a week at this wonderful peaceful hotel, although this may change as the hotel becomes more popular. The hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean, as would be expected of a new hotel. Rooms were very spacious and had great views of the sea. The hotel has lots of nice areas to sit, each area having pools and bars serving snacks or food during the day, which was of good quality and inexpensive. At breakfast and dinner there was a great choice, the only improvement could be a better choice of non-alcoholic drinks and coffee in the restaurant in the evening. The Staff were all great, with a shout out to Lizzy who was very knowledgeable about places to visit and getting around the island. Also Pryia who entertained us with her knowledge of the prickly Pears! We hired a car for 2 days, which I think is the best way to see the island. The majority of roads are great and the cost of hire was reasonable. A couple of points which some may find annoying: Firstly the hotel is not an easy walking distance from the town if you are not fit, and the bus service from the hotel is not great. Secondly, the weather was great while we were there, which meant we drank a lot of water. However, as the tap water is not drinkable we tried to keep the glass bottles provided topped up. This was a challenge, as other than at breakfast the hotel bars were the only place to fill up and they wanted to charge 2 Euros for this. We would advise to buy water and take it to the hotel, which goes against the eco policy of the hotel which I assume is to cut down on the use of plastics. The hotel need to overcome this by providing free drinking water when requested, and if at the pool this could be in the form of a reusable plastic glasses which they use for alcoholic drinks when by the pool. We hope that the water situation improves before our next visit, which we hope will be next year.

Luxury establishment, where we were able to rest and enjoy the comforts of this Hotel, we loved everything from the very varied breakfast with many options to dinner in the restaurant, as well as the swimming pools that were there, the staff is very friendly and very attentive, we would like to return to stay longer to enjoy its facilities in another way, since this time we went on a rebound and we almost had no time.

This hotel is amazing. The location is incredible, very close to the centre but at the same time in a magical place with views of the sea and Teide in the middle of nature. The facilities are like in a movie. It has several pools and none of them are crowded. My favourite is the infinity pool with views of Teide and the bar nearby :D. They treated us great throughout the stay and the children had a great time as they have an animation staff that captivates anyone. They did everything. Highly recommended for both family and couples, even for work, I was very inspired when I took some time in the pool to work for a while. I recommend going to the spa, I also had a massage that left me feeling new, and the games room and the gym :) Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We have just returned from an 11 night stay at the beautiful Bancal hotel. The hotel is ultra modern with a feeling of "Grand Designs" about it. It is cleverly integrated into the hillside above San Sebastien and looks impressive as you arrive. We were greeted by very friendly and professional reception staff who soon had us on our way to our room. We had booked in online to save time and it is well worth doing. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with everything we needed. Towels, bedding and fittings are all of a very high standard as are the toiletries. The hotel has a very green and environmentally friendly agenda. There are lots of lighting options in the room for comfort and a large satellite TV with English channels. Outside we had a small patio which we used every day. All rooms have sea views and we could watch the sun rise over Mount Teide. We used the buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner each day and the food was excellent with good choices and constant replenishment throughout service. There's a live cooking station at both meals so you have extra choices of meat and fish. We were never disappointed! Drink prices were reasonable. The dining room is nicely laid out so you have plenty of space around you whilst eating which is really good ..In fact the whole hotel has a feeling of spaciousness and calm in every area. The pools are superb and watched over constantly by the young guards. Infinity pools are really impressive. Every member of staff we encountered in all areas was kind friendly and helpful even though we spoke very little Spanish! When we needed some help with a medical problem, reception were quick to point us in the right direction and order transport so thank you all. The hotel initially looks a little isolated but it really isn't. There is a bus stop right outside and it costs 1Euro to get to the capital by bus (or 10Euro by taxi) so don't be put off by that. One improvement I would suggest would be to have more drinking water stations around the hotel, especially for out of hours use. We had to plan our water usage ahead which shouldn't be necessary. Thank you Bancal, we hope to return and see you again one day.

A great discovery. The staff, services and facilities are a 10. The limited variety of food and such a small menu with several dishes missing makes you get bored of eating there and have to go out. Otherwise, a luxury. Thank you.

My children and I have enjoyed a few days of rest and enjoyment in a hotel with an original design, with all the comforts and close attention from all the staff. An approach to a hotel installation with environmental awareness, with a resilient design, thinking about the reduction and control of energy expenditure, maintenance and water resources, so scarce on our islands, with a vegetation design appropriate to the climate zone, which must be valued very positively. I would not hesitate to repeat if we were given the opportunity, for the tranquility, proximity, elegance and quality.

It has the advantages of a new hotel (just over a month old) and clean, unused spaces. From there, it lacks several points to be a hotel of a certain category. Starting with breakfast, it is striking that they do not have natural juices of any kind, a detail that, together with the lack of variety of products and offerings in the buffet, leaves much to be desired. It is important to note that if they advertise that they have two heated pools, it is not true. The supposed heated pools were at the same temperature as the rest and it is an issue for certain seasons that they should take care of. The issue of the spa is important to the extent that they advertise themselves as a hotel and a spa. They have to manage to get a space where the massage area is isolated and without noise from the outside because that way the experience is ruined. We had the anecdote that a hotel worker came in while we were having the massage, although he apologized and left quickly, terrible. They should also focus a lot on the quality of the massages. We are regulars and frequent hotels with spas, and the quality of the massage was quite poor, as my partner and I experienced and were equally dissatisfied. In the rooms they should start by having water for the guests, as well as doing something about these types of beds with wheels that keep moving and coming off the wall, I think it is an important detail. Beyond having many bars and restaurants, they should concentrate on having fewer and better stocked, in some of the ones we went to they told us that they no longer had things that were on the menu, and the food in those places could clearly be improved. It is an area with a lot of wind given the orientation of the island, and they should provide spaces or areas that are prepared for it, as well as the services that serve in the hammocks should take care and be attentive to collect and serve as quickly as possible. We hope that in a few months they can improve and learn from their mistakes, with special emphasis on breakfast and the spa.

A pleasant surprise in San Sebastián de La Gomera. A well thought out and designed hotel, very functional, with very nice and comfortable spaces. The hotel is close to San Sebastián, the Garajonay National Park and its network of trails, and the marina and beaches of San Sebastián and Ávalo. We were looking for rest in a modern hotel and that is what we found, comfortable facilities and a coherent architecture, without artificialities from other places on the planet. From the moment you arrive you are enveloped by the tranquility of the place and the views of Teide and the sea, present from every corner and with details of spectacular viewpoints. The room, quiet for rest, with views of the sea, super comfortable and fresh, decorated with exquisite taste, with an impressive integrated shower. We are not from the pool but the ones at the hotel are worth spending the day, with an infinity pool looking out to sea that leaves you absorbed. The service was very good despite the short time it has been open, with a super friendly and efficient team at all times. 5-star spa and gym. The gastronomic offer is rich, breakfast is very varied and the Guro à la carte restaurant combines local cuisine with creative touches. In short, the perfect location to explore the beauty of La Gomera, with hiking trails and impressive landscapes just a few steps away. A different, balanced, modern and sustainable hotel concept, with very charming details. And for those who go as a family with children, I think they will enjoy it very much too. An experience to repeat.
