My wife and I were in Santa Fe for a few days and friends recommended the Inn. It wasn't quite what I had expected, but we fell in love with the place in no time. The check-in process took less than two minutes and our room was ready. There is plenty of free parking on the property, which was a welcome relief these days of hotel's gouging for parking. The room was, how should I say, rustic. The decor is definitely western, but it was very comfy. The bathroom was dated, but large with plenty of counter space for the both of us. I wish it had a shower instead of a bathtub (I nearly had a serious accident years ago stepping into a bathtub to take a shower), but that's an expensive conversion. The best part, hands down, was the bed. This was the last stop on a multi-week trip through the west and the bed was incredible, just the right blend of firmness. After settling in we moseyed on over to Joe's Tequila Bar, and man it did not disappoint. I had a few varieties of Margarita's and each was better than the previous. The bartender, Gilberto, really knows his craft. Breakfast was included in our reservation and was served buffet style. The selections were very good as well as the taste. One night we didn't feel like going out for dinner and ate at Joe's. It was the best dinner that we had in Santa Fe, and incredibly reasonable. Order the Chipolte Shrimp and you will not be disappointed. The outdoor seating of the bar and restaurant was heavenly at night as the temps went down into the high 60's. Finally, location. You would be hard pressed to find another hotel with a more perfect locale. It is directly across the street from Canyon Road, and four short blocks away from the start of downtown. If you are visiting Santa Fe and want a fantastic place to stay, run - don't walk - to The Inn on the Alameda.
