What a great place! Super clean accommodations and nicely decorated. Centrally located and within walking distance to all the little shops and restaurants. Small vestibule area enabled us to eat breakfast and lunch, BBQ stations in the back area are so convenient. Reasonable off season rates as well. Will definitely be returning next year. Huge thanks to the staff who consistently offered exceptional customer service.

Our stay at this motel was disappointing, particularly given the high price. Positive Aspects: Clean Room: The room was clean and well-kept. Amenities: The motel featured a small dining table, full-size fridge, microwave, and a pleasant back area with BBQs, fire pits, a pool, and seating. Location: Conveniently close to the beach, grocery store, and LCBO. Owner’s Mother: She was very kind, offering us breakfast bacon and lending us a frying pan. Areas for Improvement: Booking Issues: We had to reschedule our June reservation to August due to a severe storm forecast, as staying in a small room with a 5-year-old during a thunderstorm was not feasible. We did not expect a rate increase and hoped to retain the original rate as a gesture of good faith. We discovered the new rate of $249 only at the end of our stay, and our attempt to discuss this with the owner was met with poor customer service, including the door being shut in our face. Ventilation Problems: The vestibule became excessively hot due to sun exposure and lacked a screen door for ventilation. Lack of Essentials: The room lacked a coffee maker, hairdryer, plates, and cutlery. We were not informed that these items were not provided, which would have allowed us to bring our own. BBQs: The BBQs were caked on with grease, and only one of the three was functional. A bit of weekly maintenance would fix this issue. With some work and effort, this motel could become a wonderful place to stay, and the seasonal price could be justified, but it currently falls short of expectations. We will not be returning and hope that the management takes this feedback seriously to make the necessary improvements.

Upon arriving I was shocked when I opened the sliding door only to be knocked over by the toxic fumes of Pinesol (at least that what they said it was). I had to hold my breath to get to the next locked door which when I opened was almost just as bad as the entry foyer. There was only one tiny (7”x7”) window in the bathroom near the ceiling that opened. There are no other windows to open. So basically I was in a box with no windows & fumes that burnt my throat & gave me an instant migraine. I tried to air out the room by leaving my door wide open but the smell was so strong I couldn’t stay in the room. I immediately spoke with Angela, the front desk person, about the toxic smelling cleaning agent/fumigation spray or whatever it was & told her it was intolerable. I ended up having to sleep at a friends nearby cottage on the floor. I had no choice because I was feeling so very nauseous from the fumes. It was all I could even taste while in the room. Angela insisted it was Pinesol. I said I understand the cancellation policy and that I was willing to pay for 2 nights but thought a refund for the last night (a Friday which could have possibly been rented to some other poor sod) would be reasonable since I wasn’t able to stay in the room. They would not agree to it & would not let me speak to a manager/owner. I returned the key at noon on Thursday & cut my vacation short as I had no where else to stay. The fumes were still there. For the price I paid ($868), I didn’t expect to be poisoned by the smell of Pinesol (as they do claimed it was). Outside of the horrible toxic fumes, the room was very tired, which, they claimed it was all renovated. Maybe they painted the room & put new bedding on the board like old beds, but this was NOT renovated! Don’t be fooled by the strategically taken photos. The old bed felt like a box spring with no mattress. The bathroom was filthy & if I had ever been able to stand the smell I would have needed to wear flip flops in the gross dark mildew ridden shower stall. I wouldn’t give this room (more like a damp smelly prison cell) , even a one star. I am throughly upset. I lost almost $900, had no room to stay in & had to cut my holiday short. Between the smell & dissatisfied with the lack of customer service, I would stay away, far away from this place. I pity anyone expecting this be a decent place especially at this price. I wouldn’t pay $50/night for this hellhole of a place! I will be reporting this motel to the Ministry of Health first thing Monday morning. I hope for the sake of future travellers, that these owners endure everything they have coming to them!!!

After a challenging year, my goal was to find a place to make memories and spend some quality time together. We booked for three days and ended up staying 4. We appreciated the air conditioning, modernization of the rooms, the location and the kind owner who I spoke to many times during the stay. The only area of suggestion is consider a larger matt in the entrance area, due to the fact my kids feet turned black when stocking the fridge on the first day and the curtain rod appeared to be rusty and stained our white towels. We will be back!

The loveliest cottages and amazing clean facilities. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else in Sauble! The family who operates it are truly amazing and go out of their way to make it enjoyable! Highly recommend the Superior Cottage but have also stayed in Huron and it was lovely too!

Thank you Angela and Family. What a lovely family making sure everyone’s taking care of. Stunning cottage. We had a lovely time. Kids loved the pool onsite. Loved the cottage, warm, comfortable, relaxing. Loved the new furniture added from last year too. Already booked for next year! Won’t go anywhere else. You won’t regret booking. Walking distance to the beach and right across the street from grocery’s. I didn’t start my car all week. 💕💕💕

First, this is not a cottage. It is a motel with a stove. It should not be advertised as a cottage. Be prepared to bring your own plates, glasses and utensils. We were 6 people and the room only supplied 3 glasses 3 mugs 3 plates and maybe 5 bowls. Same with the utensils. They advertised free WiFi - not! Had I known that the wifi sucks and does not exist I would have been prepared and would have downloaded stuff to watch. The least they can do is give you basic TV. All they give you is a nice 55inch TV with a ROKU. Without wifi there's no roku. I would definitely NOT stay here again, there are better places to stay in Sable at a better price.
