Premier Inn Scarborough (North Bay)

One of the better Premier Inns in our experience. A relatively new one (open about 3 years or so, I believe). All staff efficient and pleasant. Room good. I put "almost" in the title of the review because paying for the parking was a 'faff' - due to the arrival time and length of stay we had to buy three separate tickets. There is an app but even then I think(?) you can only do 24 hours at a time - seriously though, who wants another 'app'?

Had a lovely stay check in nice and quick room very nice had everything we expected really big and comfortable bed staff were excellent and polite and enthusiastic the room was really clean and was as we expected the pricing was very good and will be returning again in the future

The hotel was OK for the money, but yet again we only got a double bed and not a king size. I’m starting to think Premier Inn don’t have any king size beds! Restaurant was small, and some people had to wait for breakfast as there were no tables left. We would stay again knowing what you’re getting for the money, but don’t go looking for perfection. Also check the schedule for concerts as it’s right next to the outdoor concert place so could get loud.

A lovely hotel with great staff. Excellent location for coastal walks. Room pleasant big bathroom with bath. Good food & drink facilities with really nice staff. ..................................................................

This is our return visit, having previously stayed here back in 2021. Whilst some things have remained good, our overall experience wasn’t as good. To summarise I would say that the hotel is suffering from a lack of care and attention, as well as lacking in some basic maintenance and cleanliness in communal areas. The staff were fine, although a little more cheer would be welcome. They seem to be pulled in all directions, so at certain times you’ll struggle to get a member of staff to help. Self checkin didn’t work, so the checkin process was slow. Added to that some poor maintenance in the room and some really dirty carpets in corridors just adds to the feeling that nobody cares as much as they should do.

Beds are comfortable but the room was too hot and none of the windows open. Our window had secondary glazing but the inside of both weren’t clean but could have been. Restaurant had closed sign up but would open later but didn’t have anything to say when it opened. Outside was a bit grubby with rubbish weeds and cigarette butts, any easy fix for first impressions.

Ryan and the rest of the reception team gave excellent customer service and couldn't do enough for us Housekeeping team friendly and helped us during our stay with fresh towels etc Stayed recently at York Layerthorpe Premier Inn and the team there could certainly learn a thing or 2 about how to treat guests (smiling and acknowledging a guests presence for one)

We had an accessible room with walk in shower. Hotel is easily wheelchair accessible. No problem getting to reception and the restaurant from the room. Plenty of grab rails in the bathroom and the bed is very big and comfy. If you find the bed too low just ask at reception if they can raise it as they will be more than happy to do this. Staff are very nice and helpful. We had the meal deal for cooked breakfast and evening meal and found the food excellent. Hotel only a short distance from the sea. I had a mobility scooter and followed the road to the sea front as thought the path next to the hotel might of been to steep on the return journey.

Very nice hotel in an excellent position within walking distance of South Bay and Peasolm Park. Very polite and friendly staff especially Shakira who was very efficient and friendly and was always happy to help. The Meal Deal is definitely worth it but the parking is a bit expensive.
